Vienna, Vienna, Waltz Me Away! - Post 1184
Dearest Tutu Lovers,
Well, here I am again, back in the beautiful city of Vienna! This time, I’ve arrived by train - a lovely, smooth journey, I must say, with just the right amount of swaying and bobbing to help me work on my turnout (I’m getting good at it, you know!)
Today, dear friends, marks my 1184th post and I’m positively bubbling over with excitement, so let me tell you all about my Austrian adventures. It’s Wednesday, which means you’re getting another lovely pink-filled blog post from your favourite tutu-clad, Vienna-loving ballerina, Emma!
Vienna, as always, has been a whirlwind of culture and enchantment, a feast for my senses, with its golden glow, swirling waltz tunes, and... well, pink! Okay, maybe not the last one, but we shall see.
Vienna and ballet have always been intertwined. Just walking through the city, you can feel the history seep into your bones – imagine all those waltz-loving ballerinas from yesteryear, swirling their tutus through the streets of this fabulous city! And of course, you can’t mention Vienna without thinking of the legendary Vienna State Opera, a haven for the most breathtaking performances, showcasing some of the finest talent in the world. My heart is already fluttering with excitement!
But let’s start at the beginning, shall we? My arrival at the beautiful, grand Wien Hauptbahnhof train station was like stepping back in time - its majestic arches and intricate details transport you straight to a bygone era. Of course, I had to be as fabulous as the station, so my ensemble was a stunning shade of pink (naturally!) and my trusty tutu, perfectly balanced for all the walking I was about to do. I can't resist adding a touch of whimsy, you see! After all, it’s Vienna - one of the most glamorous cities in the world!
As I made my way through the station, I couldn’t help but notice how many people looked like they were heading to the theatre or opera house, with a distinct “ballroom” air about them. My inner ballerina did a little pirouette as I imagined all the gorgeous dresses, suits, and – wait for it – tutus they might be wearing underneath their coats! I might have to do some investigating and see if my theory is true...
Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a proper dose of Viennese shopping therapy, and my first stop had to be the über chic Schuhboutique, a shoe shop filled with the most beautiful, intricate, and downright decadent designs – all of them perfect for swirling and pirouette-ing your way around the city. You can always trust me to find the best shoes for my twirls and Vienna did not disappoint! And while you are all thinking, "Ooh, Emma, please tell us what you bought!" ... it is a secret, I won't ruin the surprise!
But don’t worry, darling, I will reveal all the details later. After all, you deserve to know, don’t you?
After an exhausting morning of shopping, nothing is more delightful than a little afternoon Sacher Torte and coffee at Vienna’s most iconic cafe, Hotel Sacher. (Of course, you’ll see this lovely place in my upcoming Instagram story, just you wait.) There I indulged in the famous Sacher Torte – a rich chocolate cake, perfect for indulging that inner ballerina.
Tonight, dear tutu lovers, it’s on to a Strauss Gala, one of those dazzling performances with grand waltzes and enchanting costumes. Oh, I cannot wait for those glamorous costumes - imagine all the layers of silk, velvet, and lace! A tutu fan's dream, don't you think? And I'm wearing a brand new tutu just for the occasion! But no sneak peeks for you – all you have to do is wait for the picture after the show!
You see, there’s something so magical about being in Vienna. This city vibrates with creativity, artistic flair, and a love of life that is simply infectious. It makes me feel like anything is possible – even a whole city wearing pink tutus. (That's a thought, isn't it? Let me know if you agree with this goal!)
So stay tuned, dear friends, because this is only the beginning! You can bet I’ll be filling this blog with stories about stunning performances, breathtaking palaces, and some of Vienna's most delicious coffee and chocolate.
Of course, if you find yourself here in this enchanting city, do let me know! You know I'm always up for a pink-filled waltz in the beautiful streets. After all, there's nothing like twirling through the streets with fellow tutu lovers!
Until next time, stay twirling, stay happy and be sure to follow me on my pink tutu adventure - @pink_tutu_emma. Remember to keep checking www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday!
