Pink Tutu Vienna: #1247

Wednesday 27th March 2019

Dearest Pink Tutu Posse,

How are you all today? Vienna has been truly magical this week and Iā€™ve got a whole host of pink tutu adventures to share with you!

As always, this week Iā€™ve been hopping between the ballet world, the fashion scene, and soaking up all that Vienna has to offer. It's truly a city that speaks to my pink-tutu-loving heart.

The week began with a beautiful waltz through the Vienna State Opera. The chandelier shimmered as the orchestra tuned their instruments, their melodies washing over the hushed audience like a soft pink silk scarf. The ballet performance was truly breathtaking ā€“ every arabesque, every pirouette, every delicate step told a story. The dancers were as light as feathers, flitting across the stage in costumes so grand, they made me want to bust out a little pirouette of my own!

Following the performance, I whisked myself away for a spot of shopping. Vienna, darling, is an absolute haven for fashionistas. I treated myself to a pair of stunning ruby red shoes with delicate lace detailing - perfect for twirling around the city streets in my pink tutu, donā€™t you think? I couldnā€™t resist a stunning fuchsia cashmere scarf, and a bag the shade of blush rose, so lovely it had me giggling like a child.

Thursday saw me enjoying a rather whimsical journey through Vienna's imperial history. You wouldn't believe the beauty of the Schƶnbrunn Palace, adorned with frescoes, tapestries, and grand halls that would have put Cinderella's ball to shame. Of course, I twirled through the grand halls, imagining myself in a bygone era, the swish of my tutu blending with the echo of laughter and the clinking of champagne glasses.

The week continued with a delightful excursion into the Vienna Woods. The air was alive with the scent of wildflowers and the rustling of leaves as I rode through the woodland on horseback. I must confess, riding in a tutu wasnā€™t ideal. Thankfully Iā€™d packed a trusty pair of jeans! The sun was shining, the breeze tickled my cheek, and it was all a delightful escape from the bustle of city life.

Saturday was all about indulging in a little bit of Viennese culture. We joined a local group of women for an afternoon of waltzing in a beautifully restored 19th-century ballroom. We wore beautiful gowns, the music floated in the air like spun sugar, and laughter bubbled up around us like a warm champagne flute. For once, I even managed to twirl without bumping into anyone. It was magical.

And speaking of magic, Vienna's famous Wurstelprater amusement park is certainly one for the books. The giant Ferris wheel offers unparalleled views of the city. And of course, no trip to the Wurstelprater is complete without a ride on the carousel! With my tutu twirling in the breeze, I felt like I was flying through a fairytale.

Sunday brought a little bit of ā€œSunday Fundayā€ - an afternoon spent enjoying delicious Viennese pastries. Oh my, have you ever tried a sachertorte? It's an explosion of chocolate and apricot, a perfect dessert for any pink tutu princess!

This week in Vienna has been simply magical. I've been reminded once again that every day can be a whimsical adventure if you just open your heart to it.

As always, remember to twirl and be fearless,

Emma, xo
