Vienna, darling, Vienna! - Post #1258

Good morning, my dears! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for a new post from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling ballerina, writing to you from the most charming city in the world - Vienna!

Vienna, darling, is just a dream. From the moment I arrived on that glorious, shiny red train from Derbyshire, I knew this was a city I would fall head-over-heels for. It's the perfect blend of elegance, history, and romance. I could honestly stay here forever!

But let's be practical, my lovelies. You wouldn't want me to forget about the all-important pink tutu part of the trip, would you?

This week's outfit is a dream come true. It's a flowing, silk tulle tutu in a beautiful blush pink that matches the exquisite blush of the roses lining the Schönbrunn Palace gardens. And my top? Oh, it's a delightful confection - a soft, white, lacy blouse that's just begging for a whirl. Honestly, it wouldn't be fair to this beautiful city to dress any less!

Vienna's Ballet Heart

And Vienna is just begging to be twirled in! You all know I adore ballet, and this city just pulsates with the love for this graceful art. The Vienna State Opera House, darling, is breathtaking. The intricate details, the velvety seats, and that breathtaking chandelier hanging above - it's almost too beautiful to bear.

Yesterday, I watched "Giselle", one of my absolute favourites, and it just sent shivers down my spine. The ballerinas were ethereal, the music enchanting, and the atmosphere was electric. I even met the lovely choreographer afterwards - what a charming man! He even signed my programme in beautiful black ink! You can imagine how fast that's going straight into my tutu-tastic memorabilia collection.

The Art of The Tutu

Speaking of tutus, darling, I have a treat for you. On a lovely little detour from my shopping spree on Mariahilfer Straße - darling, they have the most wonderful vintage boutiques - I stumbled upon the most fabulous exhibition on the history of the tutu. It was fascinating! Imagine, the first tutus were simple and practical - they were all about allowing ballerinas to jump and twirl with freedom! They’ve become these fabulous, larger-than-life works of art. Honestly, I spent hours there, mesmerized.

Of course, I had to pick up a souvenir or two (pink, naturally!). There's this absolutely darling little handmade tutu, crafted from delicate, layered pink silk, that's going to look fantastic hanging in my London studio.

Travel, Fashion, and Tutu Magic

My adventures in Vienna are far from over, my darlings. Tonight, I have tickets to the Vienna Volksoper, where they're putting on a wonderful new production of "Swan Lake" with the most beautiful set design! I simply can’t wait to be swept away by Tchaikovsky’s melodies and the delicate dance of the swans. The beauty of it all!

Then, tomorrow, I have plans to visit the magnificent Hofburg Palace. Rumour has it they have a collection of stunning imperial garments, including a particularly fascinating display of ballet costumes from the 19th century! You know how I love ballet history, so you can imagine how thrilled I am! I’ll be sure to show you my new pink, feather boa - it'll be the perfect touch for my imperial exploration.

On The Streets of Vienna

The one thing I haven’t touched on is how wonderful Vienna's streets are. You have to get your toes on those cobblestone paths! Imagine me, waltzing down Graben with my trusty little pink backpack. Just picture it, my darling, all the quaint coffee shops and charming boutiques! It's enough to melt even the coldest heart.

The food here is incredible. I have been enjoying the most delectable strudels and Sachertortes, but the local speciality, Viennese Schnitzel, has won my heart. Oh, the crispy breadcrumbs, the juicy, tender meat, and a squeeze of lemon – pure magic. Don't be surprised if you find a recipe for that one in next week's post!

Pink Tutu Vienna - Spread The Love!

And remember, my loves, I believe every heart should beat a little faster for a pink tutu! What a fun and fantastic way to express ourselves! Vienna has really inspired me - maybe I should try a "Vienna Waltz" on the streets next week?

Let me know if you'd like to join me in any of my pink-tutu adventures in the comment section below! Remember, I am here for all your fashion tips, travel advice, and general ballet fun. I love reading your lovely messages - it means so much to hear from all you beautiful people!

See you next week!

Emma xoxo
