Bonjour, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful instalment of my Pink Tutu adventures. This week, I'm beaming with joy as I type from Vienna, the very city where Strauss's music once wafted through the air, a symphony of swirling skirts and enchanting tunes. The energy here is simply magical. I feel like Iāve stepped into a fairytale ā and Iām wearing the most gorgeous pink tutu to match, naturally!
As a girl from Derbyshire, England, travelling by train has always been a favourite part of my journey. This week, I embarked on a glorious, slow journey to Vienna on the overnight train. It was the perfect chance to tuck myself into my fluffy pink travel robe, sip on some tea, and admire the moonlit landscapes as they drifted by. Honestly, you can't beat the charm of waking up to a new country from a sleeper train window!
Vienna, for me, is all about embracing elegance and style. The moment I stepped out of the train station, I knew this was going to be a delightful experience. The cobblestone streets, the pastel-hued buildings, and the graceful ladies walking their fluffy poodles ā it's like stepping into a 19th-century masterpiece!
I'm in my element here! My pink tutu gets me all the smiles and waves, a guaranteed conversation starter!
Pink Tutu on Point: Ballet Delights
Vienna has a deep, beautiful connection with ballet. This city practically breathes dance! You can feel the rhythm in every cobbled alley and every ornate cafƩ. My mission was, naturally, to dive into the Viennese ballet world and soak it all up.
The Vienna State Opera House
My first stop was the magnificent Vienna State Opera House, a marvel of architecture and history. I must confess, even after all the ballet shows Iāve seen, I've never seen a venue as stunning as this. The grandeur of the place had me giddy! I felt like a little ballerina in a grand ballroom, dreaming of twirling beneath those dazzling chandeliers.
The Vienna State Opera boasts an incredible history, with an ever-evolving schedule showcasing ballet masterpieces from around the globe. This week, they're presenting Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, a classic I just couldn't miss!
A Classical Ballet Tale
I saw Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, performed by the Vienna State Ballet, and oh my word, Iām speechless! It was an absolute masterpiece! The sheer talent of the dancers left me spellbound, every pirouette a tiny symphony.
Itās incredible how ballet transcends language and time. The music, the movement, the emotion - they all combined to tell such a beautiful story, one that resonated with me deeply. It reminded me that my own ballet journey, wearing my pink tutu across continents, is equally about connecting with beauty and emotions, finding joy and expression through dance.
A Tutusque Vienna!
As an ardent devotee of the ballet, I also couldn't resist taking a peek into Viennaās Ballet History. Did you know, Vienna's Ballet has a legacy going back centuries? Theyāve trained generations of gifted dancers who grace the stages of the world, and they continue to shape the world of classical ballet. I even found an incredible shop selling all things vintage tutus, where I snagged a fabulous pale pink vintage tutu ā perfect for my afternoon waltz!
A Tutuās Tour
My Vienna ballet adventures didnāt stop at the State Opera. I strolled through the streets, enjoying the whimsical world of dance everywhere! I found the āBallet im Zentrumā, a charming school hosting both classes for young budding dancers and more professional programs for serious ballerinas. It's lovely seeing their youngsters in pink tutus - inspiring a whole new generation of dancers!
Vienna also boasts beautiful public ballet events like the āBallet Streetā, where dancers perform outdoors ā a magical spectacle of colour and graceful movement. The beauty of ballet unfolds every day, and Vienna embraced it wholeheartedly!
Shopping: An Artform of Its Own
Okay, letās be honest, my shopping escapades in Vienna are just as vital as ballet! From elegant boutiques to vintage shops brimming with treasures, I was a happy Pink Tutu princess amidst a whirlwind of designer dresses and gorgeous accessories. You can truly find the most extraordinary clothing here ā Vienna truly embodies an artistic approach to fashion!

Vienna is a city brimming with charm and excitement! This week, I have so many lovely memories to cherish!
* A delectable Viennese Sachertorte at CafƩ Sacher: It was like stepping into a romantic movie, sipping coffee while nibbling on that chocolate heaven.
* A delightful waltz at the Schƶnbrunn Palace: I had a lovely waltz with a charming stranger at the famous Schƶnbrunn Palace ā you couldnāt ask for a more romantic setting!
* My very own pink-tutu-tastic outfit: This weekās outfit is pure Vienna ā an exquisite light pink chiffon tutu and a matching lace jacket, accessorized with vintage pink pearls and pink high heels. It's all about celebrating pink tutu bliss while feeling like an elegant ballerina from a Vienna ballet!
