Post #1351: A Pink Tutu Paradise in Vienna, darling! 🩰🇦🇹

Hello my sweet darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, reporting live from the utterly enchanting city of Vienna.

I've had a simply smashing time this week, embracing all the elegant beauty this city has to offer. Now, Vienna, for me, is a complete sensory feast. From the magnificent architecture to the rich history, it's a place where a pink tutu fits right in - don't you think?

As always, my week started with a ballet class at the charming Vienna State Opera Ballet School. The teachers here are absolutely brilliant and so kind! I even had a go at a few of the famous Viennese waltzes - it was surprisingly hard, but oh so much fun!

Afterwards, my darling Mum and I strolled through the streets of Vienna's 1st district, stopping for a delicious apple strudel and a lovely pot of tea at Cafe Sacher - a real Viennese institution! It was there, in the warmth of the cafe, surrounded by elegant ladies in beautiful hats and stylish gentlemen sipping their coffee, that the idea for this week's blog post hit me. It was so very, very… Vienna!

You see, the first thing that struck me about Vienna is how utterly romantic it is. I mean, even the buildings whisper tales of love, waltz, and enchanting nights at the opera. This city seems to ooze romance in every cobbled street and every graceful archway.

Of course, it's impossible to talk about Vienna without mentioning the ballet, right? My darling, Vienna is a city that truly celebrates the beauty of dance. And oh, what a dance!

Last night, we went to see "Swan Lake" at the Vienna State Opera. My goodness, it was exquisite. The dancers, the music, the costumes - it was a pure fairytale experience! Honestly, the ballerina who danced the White Swan, well, she seemed to float effortlessly on stage, she was positively mesmerizing!

You know, the Vienna State Opera is a monument to artistic expression, it truly is! This building is steeped in history and has seen some of the greatest dancers and musicians in the world perform on its stage. Walking inside, surrounded by opulent decorations, felt like a step back in time. It's impossible not to be swept up in the magic of it all, let me tell you!

Speaking of history, I couldn't resist a trip to the Museum of Art History, where they have an incredible collection of ballet costumes and memorabilia from the past century. It was fascinating to see how ballet styles have evolved through the ages. Did you know the tutus we see today actually became popular in the mid-19th century? Now, don't you think a pink tutu from that time would be a real statement piece?

The most delightful surprise was discovering the charming Schönbrunn Palace. The gardens are absolutely breathtaking and even offer the option of going on a carriage ride! This reminded me so much of my trips back home in Derbyshire. We're not quite blessed with the same warm weather, but there's something magical about going for a ride in a carriage through the beautiful countryside. The horses were so beautiful - so sleek and well-trained. It felt like something out of a storybook!

Later, I discovered the enchanting world of "Wienerwald", Vienna's "Viennese Woods." It's the perfect escape from the city bustle - green and tranquil, filled with shady trails, crystal-clear ponds, and enchanting forests. It felt like I'd stepped into a nature-lover's fairytale! The perfect spot for a relaxing picnic on a summer day, or a peaceful walk on a crisp autumn afternoon.

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without indulging in the delicious Viennese pastries - the Sachertorte, the Apfelstrudel, and the classic Kaiserschmarrn! Each mouthful is like a little taste of heaven, don't you think?

To add to the indulgence, I couldn't resist a little retail therapy! Vienna has some amazing boutique shops filled with the most stylish and delightful clothing. Oh, how I love those unique vintage boutiques, a treasure trove of elegant gowns and dazzling jewels, hidden gems waiting to be found! My absolute find of the week is a stunning, sparkling pink-sequinned blouse. Oh my darling, it's a complete head-turner - perfectly fitting for an evening at the opera, don't you think?

I even had the most wonderful opportunity to see "Hairspray", a dazzling musical at the Raimund Theatre! The vibrant energy of the show was electrifying! It made me long to dance in a vibrant, eye-catching pink tutu, of course! It's the best way to express oneself, you see.

My dear darlings, I can't recommend a trip to Vienna enough. The energy here is simply magical and enchanting. It's a city for everyone: history lovers, art lovers, foodies, shopaholics, and, of course, ballet lovers. This truly is a city where dreams are born and pink tutus feel completely at home.

So, I urge you all to grab a ticket to Vienna, pack your most dazzling pink tutu (you don't need one? Get one now!), and prepare to be swept away by its undeniable charm.

I’ll be back next week with more glamorous updates from our adventures. Remember to check my blog next Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com!

Lots of love and twirls, Emma xoxo
