Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! 🩰💕 It’s Emma, your Pink Tutu Princess, signing in from the magnificent city of Vienna! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for my weekly Viennese escapades. Grab a cuppa and a biscuit - you know you've got time for a spot of Pink Tutu magic!

As you all know, Vienna is like a swirling, decadent, chocolatey, musical dream… with a generous dollop of history! This week I've been diving into Viennese fashion, the stunning ballet scene (it's just phenomenal), and of course, delving deep into all things pink and tutu related. But more on all that later!

This Wednesday I’m writing from my darling little flat - my Parisian-inspired, whimsical sanctuary right in the heart of Vienna. Sunlight is pouring in through my lace curtains, painting the whole place with a delicate blush. A glass of something sparkly (the Viennese know their bubbly!) sits on my dressing table, alongside a stack of “Tutu-fied” magazines I picked up at a lovely bookshop in the Old Town yesterday. Don’t even get me started on the amazing outfits the shop windows have – Vienna, my dears, is an absolute dreamland for the discerning fashionista.

Vienna is buzzing with the vibrant energy of its world-famous symphony orchestra and of course, the magnificent Vienna State Opera House! It’s the kind of city where everyone dresses up for dinner –think shimmering sequins and dashing cravats – which just makes me adore it all the more. This city, it just seems, was made for me and my tutu!

Right, so yesterday I was exploring the wonderful world of the "Tutu." Vienna, after all, has such a rich and varied ballet history. Imagine, my darlings, swirling with grace through the Viennese palaces with its intricate gardens and elegant ballrooms - all while twirling in a pink tulle masterpiece, a vision of delicate elegance against the backdrop of imperial splendour.

I spent the day at the Österreichisches Theatermuseum - an absolute gem for any tutu enthusiast! You can just picture the grand costumes from the Habsburg era; corsets, bustles, flowing skirts... and, of course, magnificent tutus. 🩰

Now, you know me - my absolute passion is the "pink" tutu. I've been researching the history of pink as a colour in ballet, and believe me, my dear readers, it has been around for a very long time! Did you know that in the early 19th century, Marie Taglioni (you know, the queen of romantic ballet!) stunned the audience by appearing on stage in a breathtakingly soft shade of blush-pink, in one of her legendary tutus? Just a hint of blush against the white… and boom! Pink was on the map for ballerinas and fashionistas everywhere!

Now, talking of ballet… Vienna has a truly exceptional ballet scene, which I've been soaking up with a delighted smile on my face. This week, I had the incredible pleasure of watching the Vienna State Opera Ballet perform their spectacular rendition of “La Bayadère.” Just breathtakingly beautiful –the dancing, the music, the sheer scale of it all... and of course, some stunningly graceful tutus!

Of course, you just can't mention ballet in Vienna without talking about the great Rudolf Nureyev – an absolute icon in the ballet world, and you won't be surprised to learn that he graced the Vienna stage, bringing a truly breathtaking artistic energy to performances. Did you know he actually became a star, in the world of ballet, in this city of beautiful palaces? The world was at his feet, after his extraordinary success on this Viennese stage!

You know what else I loved about Vienna's ballet scene? Their enthusiasm for “Ballet Street!” It's truly inspired! Just picture the street scenes come alive with the grace of dancers - a perfect combination of artistry, movement, and theatre - taking to the streets for stunning public performances. You see it everywhere, the most extraordinary expression of dance and artistic freedom right on the city streets. Absolutely gorgeous!

As a Tutu Princess, you can't possibly spend time in Austria without a little “equine elegance”! I recently spent a day exploring the Viennese forest ( the Wienerwald) on horseback - something that brought me immense joy. Think about it, the sound of hooves clopping through crisp, frosty air as the sun paints the world with shades of gold – all the while wearing a glorious pink tutu, of course, just a hint of sparkle peeking from the folds!

Imagine, a magical, sunlit forest where time stands still, and where only the graceful swish of skirts, a playful clip-clop of hooves, and the cheerful whistle of birds breaks the silence. It's truly enchanting - and the perfect blend of femininity and adventurous spirit.

### "Fashionable" Finds in the City of Waltz

No visit to Vienna would be complete without a serious delve into its fabulous fashion scene! You all know I just can’t get enough of exploring boutiques, delving into vintage finds, and uncovering the latest fashion treasures. Vienna, my darling friends, is an absolute fashionista’s paradise.

The first stop for every style aficionado? The Kohlmarkt. You'll find every luxurious name imaginable – Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada…the works! But the little shops are absolutely worth a visit too, especially for vintage and handmade finds - just don't blame me for your overflowing suitcase, dear friends! The shopping, my darlings, is as good as it gets!

Vienna, oh Vienna… you’ve swept me off my feet, quite literally! You’ve become a new favourite on my tutu travels! With its grace, its grandeur, its dedication to art, its love of history... this city is an absolute dream come true for any Pink Tutu Princess! You really have to come see this fabulous city, it truly has something special for everyone.
