Pink Tutu Vienna: Episode 1408 - Viennese Waltz & Whimsy 🩰🌸

Hello, my dearest pink-loving tutu enthusiasts! It's Emma here, and oh, my goodness, you won't believe what an absolutely divine week I've had in Vienna! This beautiful city has been absolutely twirling me into a vortex of artistic enchantment, and I just have to share it all with you!

It's Wednesday, and that means it's Pink Tutu Vienna day on www.pink-tutu.com! 🍾 This week, we're exploring the city of waltzes and imperial charm. Buckle up, my darlings, because we're about to embark on a truly magical adventure.

From Derbyshire to the Danube

This week's trip was funded by the most delightful performance at the Buxton Opera House, where I twirled my way into the hearts of Derbyshire folk in a truly magical production of "Sleeping Beauty." The applause was deafening, and the final curtain call filled me with that special kind of energy that only a successful ballet performance can. This magical feeling was exactly what I needed to fuel my Viennese adventure.

Train Travel and Tutu Delights

The journey to Vienna was, as always, an adventure in itself. I love nothing more than gazing at the passing landscapes from the window of a train. There's a certain charm to being a passenger, a freedom from responsibility that allows your mind to wander. This time, I dreamt up an entirely new tutu design for my upcoming performances, inspired by the vibrant colours of the fields whizzing by. A fluffy pink number with bright yellow tulle, perhaps? Oh, the possibilities are endless!

A Touch of Romance in the Austrian Air

Stepping off the train in Vienna, I felt the romantic air of the city wrapping around me like a warm embrace. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled my senses, and the gentle clinking of the horse-drawn carriage bells added a layer of charm. And speaking of charm, the Viennese ladies, I have to tell you, they know a thing or two about style! Their beautiful pastel-hued outfits are just to die for, and it seems as if every corner I turn, a new shade of pink or lavender catches my eye!

Ballet Beginnings at the Vienna State Opera

Of course, my journey to Vienna wasn't complete without visiting the world-renowned Vienna State Opera House. This iconic building, steeped in history and architectural elegance, felt almost sacred as I stepped into the hallowed halls. As I toured the magnificent interiors, I imagined the great dancers who had graced its stage over the centuries, feeling their footsteps echo through the corridors of my imagination.

Whipping into the Whirlwind of Viennese Waltz

After a lovely cup of Viennese coffee in a cozy cafe with floral wallpaper (did I mention I'm in love with floral patterns!), I was invited to join a Viennese Waltz class in a small studio tucked away in a quaint little square. I can't begin to tell you how much fun I had learning the steps! The instructor was a lovely gentleman with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He called it "an exercise in grace and seduction," which I have to admit, got my heart fluttering!

Tutu Inspiration and a Wardrobe Shopping Spree

Inspired by all the charming sights and waltzing moments, I had to go shopping, naturally! Vienna's shopping scene is a wonderland of fashion and vintage finds. I snagged the most adorable powder blue silk dress that I absolutely have to pair with a pale pink tutu for my next performance! (Just think of the elegance! Just thinking about it sends a shiver down my spine with excitement!). And the shops themselves are just breathtaking - you know I have a penchant for beautiful window displays, and the ones here in Vienna were a real treat for my eyes!

The World's Most Charming Carriage Rides

After a delicious dinner of Wiener Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel, what's a girl to do but enjoy a leisurely carriage ride through the city centre? I am a huge fan of horse-drawn carriages. Something about their gentle gait and the tinkling of the bells just transports me to another time. The gentle clip-clop of their hooves added to the enchanting atmosphere of the evening, and the carriage driver was so charming and talkative, giving me all the history and gossip I could possibly ask for about the city.

The Majesty of Schönbrunn Palace

No trip to Vienna is complete without visiting the Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburg Emperors. Oh, how I long for a time of silks, powdered wigs and grand balls. (Imagine dancing the night away in a breathtaking, fully-frilled tutu, while being serenaded by the world's most talented orchestra). Oh, to live like royalty even for a day! The palace, with its immaculately manicured gardens and opulent interiors, filled me with wonder and inspiration. This truly is a place where history meets art, beauty and grace.

From Viennese Charm to Pink Tutu Dreams

And there you have it, my darlings! Another week in Vienna, filled with waltz, waltzing, and endless pink-hued inspiration! I must confess, I'm feeling truly smitten with this city. It's like stepping into a fairytale, a place where elegance and charm intertwine with a splash of magic.

Until next week, I hope this post has filled you with inspiration and excitement! Remember, my lovely pink tutu lovers, don't be afraid to twirl and twirl some more! The world needs more pink tutus! I have an ambitious dream: To see every person, every woman, every man, every child on this planet rocking a pink tutu, in all its glory. Imagine the possibilities. Imagine the smiles! Imagine the joyful chaos! It could happen! I believe it can! And now, it's time to head out to the Schönbrunn Gardens and bask in the Viennese sunshine.

Keep twirling and spreading the pink tutu love,

Emma xx

PS: Did you know the original pink tutus weren’t pink? They were originally white! I find that so interesting, what a difference a little colour can make!

PPS: You can catch me next week on Pink Tutu Vienna, back from my European adventures, with some exciting new tutu creations.
