Vienna Waltz - A Whirlwind of Pink and PliĆ© š©°
Hello my lovely Tutu-Twirlers!
Itās Wednesday, which means it's time for another blog post from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing travel companion - yours truly, Emma! This week Iām in Vienna, the majestic heart of Austria, a city where the air hums with music and history dances around every corner. As I sip my cappuccino, gazing out at the magnificent Schƶnbrunn Palace, I can't help but feel a twirl coming onā¦ and what better way to embrace this waltz-filled city than in a beautiful new pink tutu?
Vienna: Where Ballerina Dreams Come True
I landed in Vienna yesterday, after a charming journey aboard a sleek train that whisked me across the breathtaking landscape of Bavaria. Now, you might be thinking, why Vienna? Well, darlings, Vienna is like a magical portal to the world of ballet, with its rich heritage, stunning ballet houses, and passionate ballet scene. This city is absolutely bursting with inspiration, perfect for a tutu-loving gal like myself!
Pink in Vienna: Fashion Forward & Flourishing
I have to say, Vienna has embraced my signature shade with open arms. Pink hues are everywhere ā in the delicious macarons at a little patisserie I discovered, on the petal-soft blooms in window boxes, even on the horses pulling the elegant carriages around the city. My pink tutu certainly stands out here! It's such a vibrant and celebratory city; Vienna just gets me. Of course, my mission this week is to not only soak up the Viennese culture but also to find some more breathtaking pink tutus to add to my collection.
A Ballet Bliss: A Journey Through Time
Today, my schedule is packed with some pure ballet bliss! My first stop is the Vienna State Opera House, one of the most revered opera houses in the world. The architecture is stunning, an elaborate dream of chandeliers and gilded details, a true palace of performing arts! Iām hoping to snag tickets for this evening's performance, āSwan Lakeā, a timeless masterpiece that I simply adore. I hear there is an exclusive Tutu Exhibit as well! A fellow ballet aficionado can dream, right?
Later this afternoon, I plan to attend a ballet masterclass at a beautiful studio I found nestled amidst the cobbled streets. Vienna is a ballet Mecca; you can truly feel the artistry and dedication here.
Pink Tutu & Pastries: Vienna's Culinary Charm
No trip to Vienna is complete without savouring some local delicacies! I am dreaming of indulging in Viennaās legendary Apfelstrudel ā flaky pastry, sweet apples, and a dollop of whipped cream ā pure Viennese heaven! And of course, a Viennese coffee, rich and aromatic, served with a delightful layer of foamy milk ā it's all about those delightful details!
Vienna's Whispering History
Between ballet adventures, I'm eager to wander through Vienna's labyrinthine streets, taking in its imperial grandeur. Today, I will be exploring St. Stephen's Cathedral, a magnificent masterpiece of Gothic architecture, and later strolling through the Schƶnbrunn Palace Gardens, a breathtaking floral paradise where music seems to waft on the breeze.
The Horses and I
Tonight, I will experience the thrill of riding in a traditional horse-drawn carriage around the city, a truly enchanting experience, taking me back in time. It's all about those delightful details ā like how the carriage is decked out with ornate pink trimā¦ matching my tutu, of course!
A Pink Tutu Revelation in Vienna
Vienna is reminding me how much our passion for ballet connects us, across countries, across the centuries, and with all our own individual styles. The history and legacy of this elegant city inspires me to continue dancing my way through life and to inspire others to embrace their own individual grace, in their own way. And for me, that will always include a pink tutu, wherever my journeys take me!

What to wear in Vienna!
A trip to Vienna calls for elegant, whimsical outfits that celebrate the city's unique culture and heritage. This city loves fashion ā there's always a certain Parisian chic here ā with a nod to classic Viennese traditions. Of course, I am all about a pop of pink to elevate your Vienna look!
Pink Ballerina Style: You simply can't go wrong with a tulle ballerina skirt or a soft tulle dress. Pair it with a silky blouse for a classic ballet look.
The Viennese Lady: Opt for a timeless tea dress with lace details or an elegant floral skirt. Choose pastels and soft colours for that Vienna flair.
The Ballet Diva: Embracing the Viennese spirit with a dazzling statement dress. Look for details such as embroidery, frills, or sequins to elevate your evening look. And remember ā pink never fails to create a grand entrance!
Vintage Chic: Donāt forget your vintage pieces! Vintage clothing works beautifully in Vienna, as the city has such rich history, and a certain vintage charm fits in perfectly here.
Vienna, a City for all seasons:
The seasons here have their own character in Vienna:
Spring: The city comes alive in bloom with delicate pastels ā perfect for my pale pinks and soft lacey fabrics.
Summer: This is when you see a real sense of vibrancy and freedom, especially with the street performances and outdoor cafes. Bright, vibrant tutus look amazing under the warm sun.
Autumn: This season is a delight ā rich, warm colours, and those romantic Vienna fogs are perfect for my deep ruby pink tutu!
Winter: This season is full of glamour! Velvet, lace and a gorgeous emerald tutu will complete my Viennese winter look.
Remember to always pack a stylish scarf to accompany your tutus, especially in the colder months!
Some of my favourite Viennese Shopping Stops:
Naschmarkt: This iconic Viennese market is a foodie paradise ā also full of fascinating little boutique shops where you might find a perfect piece for your Viennese style.
The āGolden Quarterā around KƤrntner StraĆe and Graben: Elegant shops and department stores with classic Austrian labels. Itās great for picking up beautiful fashion finds.
āShopping Quartierā on the other side of the Danube River: This area has more independent designer boutiques and vintage clothing shops. Perfect for finding some unique gems.
* Vienna ā where elegance and charm are part of every moment ā just like a pink tutu should be. See you next week darlings! Emma š*
