Pink Tutu Vienna: Whirlwind Wednesday! (Post #1570)

Darling readers,

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another glorious Pink Tutu Vienna blog post! I'm writing to you from the heart of Vienna, where the cobblestone streets echo with waltz tunes and the air is thick with the sweet scent of strudel. Oh, Vienna! How I adore you!

This week has been a whirl of excitement! The city seems to have put on its best finery, as though even the buildings themselves were preening in anticipation of some grand soirée. As always, I was right in the thick of things, embracing the city's captivating culture and, of course, keeping things fabulously pink.

Let's rewind the tape back to Monday, where my week began with a joyous trip to the Burgtheater. You know me, I can't resist a theatrical performance. This one, a production of "Der Rosenkavalier", was particularly enchanting. The costumes were so exquisite, the music was divine, and the dancing was positively sparkling. I've always believed that theatre holds a magic, and Vienna’s Burgtheater certainly lives up to this, it's absolutely breathtaking.

And, naturally, no trip to Vienna is complete without a ballet. You know I live and breathe ballet, and my dear Vienna knows this too! This week, the Vienna State Opera was showcasing "Swan Lake," and darling, the costumes! A kaleidoscope of fluffy white tutus, just the way I like them. Honestly, it had me twirling in my seat just from the sight of them!

Speaking of tutus, I just had to share a little fashion secret with you. While exploring the MuseumsQuartier, I stumbled upon the most charming vintage boutique! And, oh my heavens, a pink tulle dress with the most darling scalloped trim was waiting for me. Let's just say it was destined to become part of my ever-growing collection. Honestly, if that dress could talk, it would be my new best friend.

Now, every self-respecting ballet fanatic knows that shopping is an essential part of any ballet trip, wouldn't you agree? So, of course, I took a wander down Kärntner Strasse. It's lined with gorgeous boutiques showcasing the latest trends, and even if I didn't buy anything, the window displays were like little performance art pieces. But alas, the urge to treat myself won out and I did treat myself to a gorgeous pink feathered headband - simply delightful!

Let's face it, the whole experience has been practically perfect. My days have been filled with the delight of Vienna. A whirlwind of ballet classes (where, I must say, my skills are flourishing thanks to the excellent Viennese teachers), museums, performances, and charming coffee houses where I sip coffee and people-watch, a delightful ballet enthusiast in the heart of Vienna.

There's no place like Vienna! The city pulsates with life, the laughter, the music, the art. I could truly live here for ever and never tire. If you find yourself in Vienna, do seek out the hidden courtyards, the elegant palaces, the lively squares. And remember, darlings, to keep your eyes open for something sparkling!

And just so you know, I'm returning to Vienna next week! There are just so many ballet productions, shopping destinations and sights that I am missing.

Until next week, remember to twirl on, darling, twirl on!

Much love and happy dancing, Emma x
