Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 1772 - Waltz me away! ?✨

Hello, my darling tutus! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Vienna! This Wednesday feels extra special - I'm brimming with excitement, as Vienna is truly blooming into the season, much like a rosebud unfurls in the springtime sun. ?

It's been a whirlwind of a week, all punctuated with my beloved pinks, tutus and a touch of Viennese flair! I started the week with a thrilling ballet performance - a beautifully chaotic rendition of "Giselle," the music had me dancing in my seat, my feet practically tapping out a jig. It's hard to describe the emotional rollercoaster this story takes you on, from the ethereal woodland nymphs to the dramatic intensity of Giselle's tragic fate - absolutely captivating! And what did I wear? Of course, a delightful tutu in the softest shade of rose, it added a touch of fairytale whimsy to the evening. ✨

Then it was off to explore Vienna's bustling markets - it felt like a visual feast for the senses, especially when you are looking for vintage finds and quirky gifts. I snagged a gorgeous floral crown (that's already making appearances on my Instagram!) and a delicate lace handkerchief that I can't wait to pair with my ballet outfits! ?

This week I've been making a real effort to embrace the true Viennese spirit, and it's taken me beyond the museums and into the local cafes! Have I told you about the Sachertorte yet? A chocolate and apricot masterpiece! It's decadent, delicious, and truly embodies the sweetness of Vienna itself! (Of course, I couldn't resist a splash of pink on my cake - a tiny rosebud candy was the perfect touch!) ??

One of my favourite things to do in Vienna is to stroll around the majestic palaces, taking in the architectural brilliance, soaking in the history, and, of course, trying to imagine the glittering balls that used to be held here. Vienna has a special kind of magic - even just a quick walk in the Prater (the sprawling Viennese park), amidst its green spaces and iconic giant Ferris wheel, felt utterly magical! ?

Now, onto the exciting news - I've just been contacted by a very exciting company called "Wiener Pferdesport," and I have been invited to learn more about the history of their equestrian sports! It’s a dream come true! Horse riding has always been a passion of mine (remember those enchanting childhood pony rides!), and I simply adore how elegant and beautiful the Viennese tradition of equestrian sport is! Think: intricate costumes, the proud stride of noble steeds, and the air filled with the rhythmic clip-clop of hooves against cobblestones - I can hardly wait to share my experience! (Imagine, a tutu with a hint of equestrian glamour! ?)

For those of you following me from Derbyshire, I’ve already promised to share my tales of Vienna back home with a proper cuppa tea! Just you wait until I show you all the fabulous pictures!

This week has been a kaleidoscope of delightful experiences - it’s truly a wonder to be a ballerina in Vienna. The waltz echoes through my soul as I continue to explore all the beauty Vienna offers - from elegant tea salons and museums bursting with history to vibrant street performances and enchanting hidden gardens. As I write, the gentle melodies of Johann Strauss float from an open window, filling the air with a timeless elegance that seems to permeate every corner of the city. ?

So, darling tutus, how about joining me on my next Viennese adventure? Until next Wednesday!

Love,

Emma x
