This month, I've popped back to 2000 - a year brimming with dazzling drag delights, darling!

This trip has taken me to all the hot spots, from London's iconic The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, a historic drag haven, to New York's fierce scene at The Stonewall Inn, where it all began.

Let me tell you, the vibes were electric, honey! 2000 was a pivotal year for drag, as the world was embracing its fierce beauty like never before. Think: The iconic movie 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert', had swept the globe, captivating hearts and making everyone wish they could don a feather boa and strut their stuff.

Before we get into the juicy bits, darling, I have to tell you about my magical arrival! My fabulous pink tutu, which, of course, has the power to transport me through time, twirled me back to this vibrant era. Picture this, lovelies, my sparkling tulle swishing as I landed right into the heart of the infamous, glamour-filled Drag Race World, a club nestled right in the heart of London! I was like, "Girl, I am here to play!"

I couldn't resist hitting up the legendary Royal Vauxhall Tavern - the place was alive with energy! Imagine, drag legends like the divine Leigh Bowery, the enigmatic and fabulous Michael Stich, and the incredible Divine (a legendary drag star that shone on in the 70s) - the energy was electric!

It was also the year where the beautiful Bianca Del Rio (and yes, you all know what is coming!) was rising as a captivating drag performer, wowing the crowds and setting hearts aflutter! I swear, if I wasn't such a professional blogger, I'd have ripped off my pink tutu and joined the dance floor with my fellow drag darlings.

Of course, the scene wasn't limited to clubs and performance spaces, honey. I was absolutely fascinated by the street scene, where drag queens were redefining beauty standards and making bold, defiant statements. It was a glorious explosion of colours, styles, and attitude. It's incredible to think that these queens, through their performances and expressions, were breaking down stereotypes and paving the way for the inclusive drag scene we love today!

My darling, don't think this fabulous era lacked style! In fact, I was completely obsessed with the fashion! 2000s drag fashion was bold, daring, and heavily inspired by everything from vintage glam to modern street style, and it definitely pushed boundaries, honey. And the makeup? Let's just say, it was about unleashing the creativity and going full-on dramatic, making it even more expressive and captivating! Those smokey eyes and sculpted cheekbones, darling? Talk about stunning!
