Pink-Tutu.com: Post #1104 - December 2011 - Back in Time with Emma!

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite Derbyshire darling, Emma, here, back with another peek into the glorious world of Drag Queen history! As usual, my magical pink tutu has whisked me off on another time-travelling escapade, and this time, we're heading to the glamorous year 2011, oh honey, a decade ago!

The world was abuzz with exciting happenings, so buckle up your fabulous selves and prepare to be dazzled, darling.

What a year 2011 was, honey!

The world of Drag, darling, was simply overflowing with flair! The season's top performers were wowing audiences everywhere, and a fresh wave of young talent was emerging. Let's just say, things were moving - fast!

Over on the Drag Race front, darling, the sixth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" was making a splash. The girls were serving serious looks and werk, honey! Let's face it, darling, you can't go wrong with a line-up that featured the divine Bianca Del Rio, Trinity K. Bonet, Milk, and Jinkx Monsoon (a true queen!). This season went down in Drag history with some incredible moments - those "Snatch Game" shenanigans? Chef's kiss!

Speaking of RuPaul's Drag Race, 2011 was the year RuPaul unveiled "Drag Race All Stars", honey! This was like, the ultimate Drag Race party! Imagine, seeing some of your favourite queens back for another go at the crown - the excitement was off the charts!

Over on the UK scene, darling, the first season of "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" was still years away, but let me tell you, things were happening! We were witnessing a thriving drag scene, darling, with some amazing talents blazing a trail. Let me tell you, this wasn't just London. From Birmingham to Brighton, the queens were showing the world that British Drag was a force to be reckoned with, darling.

And, on a personal level, honey? Well...

I was completely smitten by the Drag scene. It felt so electrifying! And all this while sporting the ultimate statement, a dazzling pink tutu! Who needs diamonds when you've got that gorgeous pinkness?

That's why, when it comes to style inspiration, darling, it's all about a look that truly makes a statement, don't you think? I’m talking about outrageous, stunning – and it just had to have some pink!

Now, imagine, me and my fabulous tutu strutting into a drag club - every single one in the room is captivated, darling! Even the most serious faces light up with joy, honey, because everyone loves pink!

But, darling, a fabulous Drag Queen look isn't just about the dress; it’s also about a show! There was such a vibrant Drag scene in 2011 - everywhere you went, darling, there were Drag shows.

Now, we're talking everything, darling - from drag bars to full-on theatre productions, every night there was something dazzling happening! It was an era where Drag was breaking through, finding its place and expressing its magic. It was pure performance art.

And my mission? Darling, spreading the magic of pink!*

I was in my element, making new friends at drag events - even if I was still the only one dazzling in my pink tutu (for now, darling, for now).

Now, you all know my dream: get every drag queen in the world rocking a pink tutu! So darling, are you ready for your own pink tutu transformation? Join me at the next drag event in your city and get your pink on!*

Oh, and darling...

Don't forget, my lovely time-travelling tutu can only function on a fabulous budget, and I need your help to keep this Drag History blog going! So please, send your pennies, pound notes, or even a bit of pocket money my way. A drag queen never says no to a good donation!

So, darling, thank you for joining me on this magical adventure! Remember, keep on strutting your stuff and be as fabulous as you can be!*

Stay fabulous, Emma x
