Pink Tutu Travels: March 2013 (Post #1119)

Hiya darlings! Emma here, your very own pink-tutu-wearing, time-traveling, drag queen blogger extraordinaire. As you know, I adore the finer things in life: a killer outfit, a fab drag show, and, of course, history! This month, my pink tutu whisked me right back to March 2013 - a month brimming with fantastic drag moments.

A World Wide Drag Extravaganza!

Right, darling, hold onto your sequined hats! It seems 2013 was all about smashing barriers and celebrating the wonderful diversity of drag.

New York City, USA: First stop, the big apple. This was the month the iconic drag icon Divine was honoured with a postage stamp - absolutely fabulous! It truly demonstrated just how far drag had come, from underground clubs to mainstream recognition! It's proof that drag isn't just entertainment, it's an art form, a culture, a revolution, my dears!

Toronto, Canada: Now, Canada, as you know, is the land of maple syrup and gorgeous drag queens. In March 2013, the Toronto Drag Awards happened. Just imagine the glitz, the glamour, the gowns! I would have absolutely loved to have been there. A night for celebrating drag achievements is always a night I look forward to.

Sydney, Australia: Oh, my dears, you can’t talk about March 2013 without mentioning the amazing drag king competition The All-Australian King*! Talk about fabulous competition and talent - this is where legends are born. The Aussie drag queens were slaying it! Imagine the costumes, the sass, the performances - it must have been sensational.

Manchester, UK: I felt like I was back home when I went to Manchester. There were some incredible shows happening all over the city. A particular highlight was 'The Pink Party' at The Dancehouse, a legendary venue celebrating the queer nightlife of Manchester! I felt right at home!

Pink Tutu Inspiration

You know, all this fabulousness from around the world just confirms my philosophy - a world wearing pink tutus would be the most amazing place!

I absolutely love how different these performances and events are. Every city has its own flavor of drag - like a giant, colorful cocktail. I feel truly inspired. Maybe it’s time for a Pink Tutu Fashion Show ?

It seems everyone has this 'fierceness' deep down inside. You don't need to be a professional drag queen to rock the pink tutu and be fabulous. All you need is the courage and the attitude to just go for it, darling!

It's Time For a Show

This time travel is making me yearn for a night out at a fabulous show! What I wouldn't give to see Divine performing at the Roxy in Los Angeles, all that glitter and glamour! It's these amazing drag artists and their dedication to the art that keeps my heart beating for drag.

For now, it’s back to Derbyshire, darling! It’s time for my monthly show at The Crown Inn - it's going to be absolutely fabulous, with plenty of twirls, flips, and the best sequined pink tutu outfit! It’s important to stay local, to inspire local talent, and keep the world of drag flourishing.

Until next month, darling! And remember, always rock that pink tutu, always be fabulous, and never let anyone tell you you can't be as sensational as you want to be.

Keep sparkling, darling,

Emma
