This month, we're waltzing our way back to April 2017! Buckle up, lovelies, because this journey is going to be a dazzling, feather-filled, absolutely divine adventure!
Now, you all know that I adore a good time travelling spree. It's not always about the destination, it's about the journey! And what could be more delightful than exploring the glorious history of our fabulous drag community, adorned in a sparkling pink tutu that happens to have magical time-travelling properties? Just imagine - a tutu, that transports you through the annals of time! Honestly, darlings, how amazing is that?!
But enough about my pink paradise! Let's dive into the fabulous world of drag, as it was back in April 2017, shall we?
A Big Apple Tea Party! 🍎
I've always had a penchant for New York City, haven't I? This month, I couldn't resist a jaunt to the Big Apple! There's just something about the electric energy of the city that gets me all glammed up and ready to go!
You know what they say - "When in Rome..." Or in this case, "When in New York, you HAVE to visit The Stonewall Inn!" I'm absolutely obsessed with the history of this legendary bar! What an absolute trailblazer it was in the LGBTQ+ movement! Honestly, I'm forever grateful to the pioneers who stood up and fought for equality back then. The spirit of that fight still inspires me every day, don't you agree, lovelies?
And what a treat to catch a Drag Race Season 9 finale after party! You must know, my darlings, that I adore RuPaul's Drag Race. What a fantastic show, with so much creativity and artistry on display. We witnessed the coronation of Sasha Velour, truly a visionary artist! To be surrounded by such talent, was truly a dream come true, even if it was just a snippet of history.
Across the Pond and into Drag-tastic London! 🇬🇧
Oh, my darling London, how I love thee! The city is positively overflowing with drag queens and their phenomenal talents! It was an absolute joy to finally meet Miss Fame, the glamorous supermodel of the drag world, in April 2017. I swear, she walked into the club that night and the whole place lit up! It was pure magic! I love how she's redefined drag with her captivating style and undeniable talent. A truly inspiring icon.
Later that night, I managed to catch an electrifying show at the iconic Roxy Bar in Soho! It felt like a scene from a 1950s film, but with glitter and an incredible performance! The atmosphere was simply intoxicating! The crowd was full of people ready to dance and celebrate! Truly, an absolute delight!
Down Under to Aussie Drag Queens! 🇦🇺
Of course, we couldn't forget our wonderful friends in Australia! In April 2017, drag was absolutely exploding over there! So I couldn't resist popping into The Crown Hotel in Sydney for a legendary drag night. I was in absolute awe of their vibrant talent. So much energy, laughter, and glamour! It was a true spectacle, darling!
I also went down to Melbourne to visit the fantastic Club Planet! A truly iconic space with so much history. What a wonderful scene! From the energetic performers to the diverse crowd, it truly felt like an evening full of possibilities!
A Drag Show Extravaganza! 💅👠💃
Now, I can't possibly finish this post without indulging in my obsession - shopping! After all, what good is time travelling without bringing home some dazzling treasures! Let's be honest, my fabulous lovelies, every true drag queen has an undying affection for fashion, right?! This month's haul includes some show-stopping gowns from Divine Design, some divine shoes from House of Glamour, and a truly fabulous new tutu from Yours Truly. Darling, these designs will have you sparkling from head to toe!
Oh, and before I forget, let's never forget the queens who are blazing trails, rocking the stage, and inspiring new generations of drag artists, just like Bianca Del Rio, Courtney Act, Jinkx Monsoon, Alaska Thunderfuck, and, of course, RuPaul! We're all riding on the wave of their creativity, courage, and talent, darlings, and that is something we should truly cherish!
Well, darlings, my pink tutu and I have had such a wonderful time time-travelling back to April 2017! It was truly enchanting! I'm already plotting my next adventure - you can count on that! Until then, stay fabulous, stay glittery, and keep rocking those pink tutus, lovelies!
