Pink-Tutu.com - Blog Post #1196 - A Trip Back To August 2019 with the Queen of Tutus!

Hello, darling dears! It’s Emma here, your very own time-travelling tutu-tastic queen from the rolling hills of Derbyshire, and I’m absolutely tickled pink to be sharing another slice of drag history with you! This month, my trusty pink tutu took me spinning through the time vortex all the way back to August 2019 - a real glittering jewel in the crown of drag history.

As a queen who adores all things ballet, August 2019 was truly a time to twirl with excitement! I just had to witness first hand the iconic ā€œDrag Raceā€ season 11 finale. Can you believe it’s been a few years already? It feels like yesterday I was glued to my telly, eyes wide with wonder at the fierce talent on display!

From the moment the dazzling "Yvie Oddly" strutted onto the stage, it was clear she was destined for the crown. And who could forget her mind-blowing performance on the iconic "Queen of Hearts" runway, adorned in a striking black and red ensemble and a larger-than-life heart headdress? Just divine! She truly embodies the fierce, unconventional spirit of drag that makes the art form so fascinating.

Now, let’s be honest, every queen knows a good show needs a little drama, and let’s just say, this finale delivered it with flair! The tension between the queens as they battled for the coveted title was truly captivating. It felt like I was right there in the studio, heart pumping with every twist and turn.

But let's not forget about the fabulous runway looks, dears! Every queen slayed, but for me, Silky Nutmeg Ganache stole the show with her show-stopping ā€œSilky’s Runway Look!ā€ It was everything: glamour, attitude, and sheer talent.

The excitement wasn’t just confined to the stateside, however! Across the pond, London was buzzing with excitement for the Drag Idol UK contest, an absolute delight of drag performances that was garnering a loyal following. Imagine, dear, all those budding drag superstars finding their voice! That’s the stuff dreams are made of!

It's amazing how far drag has come since August 2019, wouldn’t you agree? We’ve seen a real surge of awareness and appreciation for the art form - all thanks to talented, brave queens who dared to dream big. And speaking of daring dreams, while I was in August 2019, I couldn’t resist a little retail therapy.

Now, for me, there’s nothing more exciting than shopping for new pink tutus. And I stumbled across a darling boutique with a display of sparkling, sequinned delights that left my heart aflutter! Let’s just say, a little trip to the dressing room, and several strategically placed bows later, my collection was bursting with newness!

As the summer of 2019 melted into a warm autumn, I truly felt the magic of drag history coming alive all around me. It's important to remember, dears, that this art form is so much more than makeup and glitter. It’s about expressing yourself authentically, finding your tribe, and celebrating diversity.

And what’s a better way to celebrate diversity and creativity than to rock a fabulous pink tutu? It's the ultimate symbol of drag - loud, joyful, and ready to take the world by storm! So go on, darlings, embrace your inner fabulousness! Find your sparkle, wear a tutu with pride, and spread the magic of drag far and wide!

Now, off I twirl to plan my next time-traveling escapade. Catch you next month, dolls, for more drag-tastic adventures. Stay glamorous and fabulous!

*Until next time, *
