Well, darling, let me tell you, the drag scene back then was a kaleidoscope of colour, talent, and pure, unadulterated glamour! It was an explosion of styles, from the traditional queenly elegance of the Victorian era right up to the futuristic cyberpunk-inspired drag you'd expect from a Star Trek set. It's like a magical rainbow, darling, except it's bursting with glitter and feather boas instead of light!

The internet had really come alive, with DragTok becoming a huge thing, a constant stream of dazzling performances and incredible lip-sync battles. Even in those days, the magic of drag was accessible to everyone, making the scene so inclusive and wonderfully vibrant.

But I’m not just a history buff, honey, I love to witness the drag scene live and in colour. This month I found myself at the fabulous ‘Rainbow Rendezvous’ in New York City, the ultimate hot spot for a true drag devotee! There were performers from all over the globe, each showcasing their unique brand of sparkle and charisma. I even caught a glimpse of the legendary, dazzling “Astra,” known for her stunning stage presence and an uncanny knack for incorporating elements from traditional drag with contemporary twists! And let me tell you, her performance was a dazzling, mesmerizing affair that I won’t forget in a hurry. It was as though she were born on the stage, dazzling every soul in the room with her divine charisma.

Of course, it’s not all about the stage, honey. Drag has permeated the mainstream. Just think: a high fashion catwalk with a full drag runway, featuring collections inspired by the icons of drag! And let me tell you, my dear, there were some stunning ensembles: sequins, feathers, even an incredible ensemble inspired by the flamboyant Lady Gaga. It's truly a world where drag is an art form embraced and celebrated across the board.

Now, speaking of fashion, 2027 was a fabulous year! Everything was all about statement pieces, vibrant colour, and bold fashion choices.

And of course, I had to nab some gorgeous pieces of drag couture for my own collection, and my pink tutu couldn't wait to showcase these designs!
