Hello darlings! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing time traveler, back from another adventure through the shimmering, fabulous history of drag. And let me tell you, this month’s trip took me on a whirl through 2028 – a year of sparkly wonders!
Now, you all know how much I love a good tutu – it’s the ultimate symbol of grace, glamour, and of course, utter fabulousness. So, it should come as no surprise that the very core of my time traveling mission is to make sure the world is covered in pink tutus, right?
2028: A Tutu Revolution
This trip, I wasn't disappointed! In 2028, the tutu was the ultimate fashion statement, embraced by everyone from street style queens to high-fashion designers. It's like the entire world decided to take a cue from our iconic drag queens and embrace the joy of a twirl!
I popped into London, a haven of drag history and some of the best nightlife this side of the Atlantic. Imagine my joy when I saw the drag scene there absolutely flourishing, full of diversity and innovative talent! From a burlesque club with a breathtaking pink feather extravaganza, showcasing drag legends like Divine’s reimagined tribute, to a rooftop bar filled with young drag queens experimenting with outrageous tutu creations – the energy was absolutely electric!
I even witnessed a stunning spectacle – a live fashion show featuring an entire collection of stunningly crafted pink tutus. The craftsmanship was breathtaking, showcasing incredible craftsmanship and the creative ingenuity that is synonymous with drag. These weren’t your everyday pink tutus, oh no! Each one was a work of art, infused with themes of futuristic rebellion, delicate florals, and bold geometric patterns – truly inspiring!
Time Traveling Fun!
Before heading back, I did a quick jaunt across the pond to the fabulous land of America! While in New York City, I got my shopping fix, strolling through Soho and checking out the new pop-up shops. They had an amazing collection of tutu-inspired street wear - crop tops, skirts, even puffer jackets adorned with delicate tulle! The trends were wild, but so very much on-theme.
I stopped for some lunch in Times Square and what do you know? Even the iconic street performers had incorporated some sort of pink tutu into their outfits! This made my heart flutter, confirming my mission to sprinkle some pink tutu magic wherever I go!
