Post Number 1394: A Whirl Through Time – February 2036

Hello my darlings! It’s your girl, Emma, back with another fab-tastic post from the Pink Tutu Time Travel Chronicles! Now, you all know I’m all about history and the glorious history of Drag! I recently twirled through February 2036, and it was absolutely divine, let me tell you! And naturally, you know what happened?! Another glorious drag adventure for this pink tutu wearing queen!

Firstly, can I just say that February 2036 has absolutely blown me away! It's such a colourful time in drag! Forget that monochrome black and white stuff, baby, this time is practically a technicolour explosion! We’re talking rainbow highlights, shimmering silver makeup and feathered headdresses galore!

Now, on to the juicy bit - where did this delightful time warp take me? Buckle up, babes, it's a story fit for a drag legend!

The time machine, or should I say, pink tutu, landed me right in the middle of London, in the heart of the Soho Drag District. You know how much I love London, with its vibrant energy and beautiful history, but oh, darling, drag in London in 2036 was like a whole different planet!

The first show I stumbled upon was a "Drag Karaoke Night" at a trendy new club called "The Pink Flamingo," featuring a full-fledged drag orchestra and everything! My darling, it was a glorious mess. Think your average karaoke night, but everyone in fabulous drag with a live band playing alongside them! A queen belting out the Spice Girls anthem "Wannabe" while being accompanied by a symphony was just the best. And don't even get me started on the audience, absolutely living their best life! Everyone was decked out in sparkly gowns, feathers, and you guessed it... PINK TUTUS! (My mission of spreading pink tutu awareness is going wonderfully, don’t you think?)

That night, I even witnessed a young drag queen who was wearing the most outrageous outfit I had ever seen. It was a shimmering purple jumpsuit with gigantic wings, topped off with a giant, feathered headpiece, you know the kind with all those neon lights? Absolutely divine!

Speaking of queens…

I did some digging about what was happening in the world of drag in 2036, and gurl, let me tell you, it was bubbling with excitement! The world's biggest drag competition, "Queen of the Universe," was airing its fourth season and a whole new crop of talented drag artists were vying for the coveted crown. I managed to catch the last episode on a digital screen tucked away in a back room of the club. It featured this queen named Valentina – I have a hunch you’ll be hearing her name a lot more in the future. Her talent was beyond anything I’d ever seen - singing, dancing, you name it, she was a true all-rounder. She was even sporting a beautiful pink tutu underneath her glittering show dress!

It seemed that Valentina wasn't just captivating hearts with her talent. She also had a massive online following and had even launched her own makeup line and was touring the world with her drag performances, promoting inclusivity and love for the art of drag.

This just shows the sheer power and influence drag queens are having all over the world! They’re breaking down barriers, sparking conversation, and pushing creativity! The way drag is being used to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights is simply inspiring, and it shows just how far we've come since the early days.

And what about the fashion scene in 2036? Let me tell you, it was simply fabulous! The streets were buzzing with the latest in drag trends - think oversized puffer jackets, bright holographic colours, and of course, a whole lot of pink tutus!

I managed to sneak in a quick shop at a vintage clothing store - their "Recycled Glamour" collection was absolute perfection! The store owner was so passionate about using recycled materials for the most stunning outfits. From repurposed leather jackets with hand-sewn patches to a dress made of old newspaper clippings, it was incredible! And the owner also offered bespoke drag services – she actually even fitted me with a sparkly, shimmering pink tutu, especially for this trip! Now you know, you just can’t beat a handmade tutu. It was the perfect pink shade too, and she told me the material was eco-friendly.

So, that's a little glimpse into the wonderful world of drag in February 2036.

Just remember, ladies, darlings, and queens: embrace your uniqueness, wear your pink tutu with confidence, and never stop believing in the power of drag! And who knows, you might even find yourself swept up in a time-traveling adventure too.

Stay glamorous!

Emma xx
