Pink-Tutu Post #1400: Twirling Through Time in 2036!

Alright darlings, grab your tiaras and put on your fanciest feather boas because this month's time travel escapade takes us right to the year 2036! Just as the late summer sun is setting, casting its golden rays upon Derbyshire (yes, I'm back home!), I'm sitting here with a cuppa and a freshly baked scone, ready to share a truly magnificent adventure with you all.

But first, a little update! Remember how I told you last month that my latest "Pink Tutu Fashion Collection" was hitting the shelves of that swanky boutique in Paris? Well, it was a total smash! People just couldn't get enough of my sequined bodices, billowing chiffon, and oh-those-fabulous tutus, my dears! Even the pigeons were wearing my designs. Just imagine the envy of the city sparrows, perched on rooftops, squawking with admiration! It was simply divine, darlings. I am utterly humbled by all the love and support I've received. Truly, it’s just proof that everyone needs a bit of pink in their life!

Now, about this month's adventure, the magic of my time-traveling tutu whisked me off to the bustling city of New York on August 8th, 2036. Oh my goodness! This place was humming with the sounds of drag, honey! There was such a buzz of excitement and creativity everywhere, it truly felt like every corner of this incredible city was ready to bust a move.

I must tell you, my darlings, 2036 feels like a whole different world for drag! There's this phenomenal, intergalactic show, "Space Queens," playing at the world-famous Apollo Theater. Imagine, darling! A whole constellation of queens representing different planets in the Milky Way! They each had dazzling costumes reflecting their extraterrestrial roots. I was speechless when this fabulous queen from Mars did an aerial performance on a laser beam! And then there was this magnificent drag king who could make it rain sequins, darling!

The theatre scene felt much bolder, more playful, and full of surprises. Drag kings and queens were pushing the boundaries of what drag even is. In this incredible show called "Drag-stalgia" I saw the most divine "lip-syncing hologram" of a classic, late 1990s performance by a beloved icon, a scene from a movie. Honestly, I almost gasped out loud and had to remind myself it was "Drag-stalgia" , and not a dream, dear readers.

But wait, it gets even better! Remember "Drag on Broadway?" This was a new show, this is "Drag on Mars." Yes! They are bringing shows featuring some of the biggest drag stars from the planets Venus, Saturn, and, yes, Mars to the moon! Can you believe this? How wonderful! I mean, can we talk about drag queen couture from across the solar system! It was breathtaking. I mean, a Saturnian queen, serving you crystalized rings, wearing an opulent dress, so voluminous she must be using a galactic space station to fly it across the universe. It is such a joy to see what drag queens have created in 2036.

After this out-of-this-world performance, I went out and had a right giggle at a new underground drag cabaret club called “The Neon Nebula.” The name was totally fitting as the space-themed, neon decorations were like something out of a sci-fi dream. It was full of this young energy that reminded me so much of the first time I started doing drag myself. The queen who hosted this show had such an electrifying performance, darling! I am almost sure they had fire on their feet, the energy coming from this fabulous drag queen just set my heart on fire, honey.

You can't talk about New York drag in 2036 without mentioning the "Glitter-ific Drag Walk". It takes place on Broadway! Thousands of queens from all walks of life would come together. And when I say "thousands," darlings, I mean "thousands." They danced, posed, and lip-synced to their favorite music, strutting in the most outlandish costumes.

You see, I couldn't just stroll by in a boring old pink tutu, could I, darling? Oh no! So, I quickly dashed back to my time traveling, magical tutu, which just happened to be outfitted with “Tutu-Mode 3036," which just magically changed my humble little tutu to reflect the future’s finest and latest fashions in all their space-age splendor.

The Glitterific Walk had a stage for every queen, you see. They had live music, performances, and, honey, that catwalk went from stage, right through the crowds. Oh darling, the queens at this show looked positively extraterrestrial, you know, just the way my magical, space age, pink tutu makes me look.

Honestly, this is just a tiny peek into all the dazzling drag scenes happening in 2036, honey! Every street corner seemed to have its own story, every restaurant, bar, and theatre offered a unique glimpse into this world where drag simply owned New York's beating heart, I am quite certain.

After I'd caught my breath from all the excitement, darling, it was time for a bit of retail therapy.

Have you heard about “Drag Queen Department Stores?" I simply had to visit this stunning shop. They sold anything from the fanciest evening wear to everyday looks, all featuring a drag queen touch! There were these extraordinary, gigantic rainbow tutus, and dresses crafted from a rainbow-hued feather boa and then… there was a line of tutus that mimicked all the major planetary colours in the solar system, complete with glittering cosmic nebula patterns, oh-so fabulous!

This amazing store had this section called "Time Travel Fashion!" I, being a time traveler, needed to have a little look-see! There was this spectacular, iridescent jumpsuit that resembled the Andromeda Galaxy! I swear, I just might have to bring this back with me when I go back to my own timeline! The colour would just be simply sensational against my fair skin, don't you think, darling? I'm picturing it now... a glamorous evening out with all the best fashion icons from history in one room... I’d feel like the most fabulous supernova ever seen!

Darling, what was I thinking, a new wardrobe without a new drag name? “The Queen of Galaxies, " they whispered to me! And how wonderful was that?

But my love of all things fashion, all things sparkly and fab, my dears, was quickly distracted by this news that the “Space Queens” were having a "Tutu Party" later in the evening! I immediately jumped onto this bandwagon, with a new celestial outfit from “Time Travel Fashion” and a rainbow tutu from "Drag Queen Department Stores” and joined a drag competition of tutus, oh yes, you are reading this right, a drag competition in tutus from the “Space Queens”, all vying for a “Galactic Tutu Award,” darling! Oh the madness of it all, simply divine! And honey, I almost forgot to tell you about the fashion show later that night in the park "Pink Tutus On The Park, " yes, the whole park was filled with pink! What an absolute delight! Imagine that, my darlings: thousands of pink tutus swaying in the soft evening light, while queens of every shape, size, and planet danced to their heart's content. It was simply divine!

But now it’s time for me to wrap up, dears, before this long time-travel blog post becomes a truly out-of-this-world galactic extravaganza! My dear readers, I am quite sure it already has! Remember to always embrace your inner queen, my darlings, and to never forget the magic that can unfold when you choose to wear your heart, your soul, and of course, a stunning, fantastic, fabulous, pink tutu!

Until next month, keep on twirling and rocking that pink!

Yours truly, Emma "Queen of Galaxies" (She/Her)
