Post Number 1399: Pink Tutus & Past Performances!

Hello, my darling darlings! It's your girl, Emma, bringing you another fabulous dose of drag history from the glamorous time-traveling archives of www.pink-tutu.com! This month, my magical pink tutu whisked me off to the shimmering, sequined future… July 2036! And let me tell you, babes, it was an absolute hoot!

I mean, picture this: me, your fabulous Derbyshire queen, swirling around in my shimmering pink tutu as futuristic skyscrapers buzzed around me. My trusty pink tutu felt extra magical that day. It seemed to glow in the neon city lights.

Firstly, darling, 2036, oh my, it's so fabulous. Let's just say the colour pink is thriving - we're talking pink highways, pink holographic billboards, even a pink space elevator taking people to the moon! It was a bit like living in a Barbie Dreamhouse but on a much larger, bolder scale!

I had the best time at a show that day called "Dragtastic Futures". You know me, I'm all about a killer show, and this one didn't disappoint! It was a spectacle - futuristic lighting, elaborate makeup, the most dazzling costumes, and dances so intricate you wouldn't believe it! It was as if a sci-fi movie and a Broadway production got together and made a baby!

One of my favourite performers was this outrageous queen named Celeste Nova. Now, Celeste, darling, is this stunningly androgynous beauty with holographic eyeshadow that would make Cher jealous, who worked that stage like no one's business! Her number was called "Space Queen" and it was everything – galactic glamour, shimmering gold sequins, gravity defying dance moves. Just me, but she should win the award for Best Performance that year, and perhaps for every year ever! Oh, and they did an amazing lip-sync to a Beyonce tribute, all on stilts! I nearly fainted from sheer dragtastic brilliance.

Oh, and they were all wearing pink tutus, but not just any old pink tutus. These were custom made, high-tech pink tutus. Some shimmered, some lit up, others had those amazing 3D projections, it was an utter fashion frenzy! They said pink tutus were a staple drag look by 2036! My dear darlings, this made my day! My lifelong goal is to see the entire world in pink tutus.

But it wasn't just the performance that stole the show. My trip to 2036 wasn't just about the spectacle, darling, it was about finding inspiration in the evolution of drag. They had these amazing "drag-labs" - these were like interactive workshops where they explored drag's history, experimented with different performance techniques, and really just pushed the boundaries of what drag can be. I even got to try my hand at some holographic makeup artistry, which let's be honest, is something even the most advanced time traveler needs practice for.

Shopping is my therapy, darlings, don't tell anyone! But, you see, I couldn't help myself – I HAD to visit some of the futuristic boutiques and shops! And, surprise surprise, it was like a pink paradise! My love of fashion got its fill - glittering gowns made from recyclable plastic, robot-designed footwear, and yes, pink tutus in every shade and style you could imagine! I came back with enough pink outfits to fill my wardrobe for the next five years. It was hard to choose which tutus were my favourites!

Now, let's be honest, babes. Time traveling comes with a price. That's why I need to work my buns off, strutting my stuff at all the local pubs and drag nights! The glitz and glamour is essential for a girl like me, but it's important to remember where I come from. My Derbyshire girls are a force to be reckoned with in the drag world, and you know I wouldn't want to miss any chance to show my hometown how we do drag! And, oh honey, let's just say that seeing my own shows from the future, well, it just reinforced how fab I already am! I hope to give my younger self a few tips, as you know a good girl can never have enough time traveling advice!

And remember darlings, life is too short to wear a dull tutu, so make it sparkle, wear a pink tutu, and most importantly, never stop being fabulously yourself! Catch you next time, loves!

Emma

P.S. If you have a pink tutu, post it on the pink-tutu.com site, let the world see how fabulous it is! We will feature you on my next blog, promise!
