#DragQueenHistory - 2045.03: "Pink Perfection & Intergalactic Glitter! A History of Drag!"

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to the Pink Tutu blog! This month I'm back to chronicle the happenings in drag for a little trip back in time - well actually, through time! As this is #1503 on my monthly blog, I figured I'd share some news on the 2045 drag scene.

Let me tell you, my dears, 2045 is simply bursting with glitter, feathers, and a whole lot of pink. I've got to confess that when I travelled back there, I actually wore my brightest pink, sparkly, sequined, tutus ever! It went down an absolute storm!* It's quite tricky actually, navigating the fabric restrictions of time travel in such an elaborate outfit, but thankfully the magic tutu helps. I might write a blog post all about that someday!

Now let's dive into all that 2045 has to offer, and what better way to begin than with the latest drag superstars on the planet, a very mixed bag of glittery fabulousness.

Firstly, we have the fabulous Stella Nova, from Venus! Stellar is making a real splash on the intergalactic drag scene, and even landed a starring role on the popular Cosmic Drag Race, that fabulous reality TV show about interplanetary drag, and trust me, everyone is watching! They use virtual reality and real time holographic projections to perform across multiple planets - it is utterly incredible!

Back down on earth, and staying on a slightly celestial theme, you have to keep your eye on Starry Nights, an incredible Afrofuturism performance art collective from Ghana. They're blending drag with futuristic elements like lasers and projections, incorporating elements of traditional Ghanian textiles and styles - a truly stunning visual explosion of colour, talent and culture.

Now, whilst those international performers are lighting up the world, the drag scene in Derbyshire, my home county, is thriving too! The Black Sheep drag night at The Nottingham Alehouse in Ripley has been getting amazing crowds with an incredible blend of established local queens and brand-new performers, truly pushing the boundaries of drag performance and showcasing talent at the local level. And you know me, I love to support my local drag scene. I can't recommend going to see them enough. You know where I am on Friday nights! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Then we've got the Frocktastic Friday Night Club in Chesterfield. The place is a riot of music, laughter, and fierce fashion, with fabulous, outrageous drag acts, an awesome selection of music (always a bit 80s-tastic! What can I say, I have a fondness for all that fabulous pop music! ๐Ÿ’–). What's really fantastic though is how inclusive it is! There's drag performances by queens, kings, and even some delightful, daring non-binary performers - absolutely brilliant for showcasing that variety. It truly feels like a safe space for everyone to express themselves and be themselves.

And of course, you can't forget the big leagues! The biggest name in 2045 has got to be the fabulous Pink Perfection! Now, don't get this confused with me, dear readers! She's the big, flamboyant, triple-threat sensation with a big voice, bigger heart, and a *fashion sense so extra, even * I'm in awe! Pink Perfection absolutely owns the global drag scene and has an amazing fanbase of admirers! She has the pinkest and most elaborate tutu you could imagine which makes her one of my personal heroes!

Of course, 2045 wouldn't be complete without its fair share of historical breakthroughs. 2045 saw the first interplanetary drag festival with queens from every planet of our solar system. It was a total, absolute extravaganza of glitter, colour, and pure, unadulterated drag performance magic! This year, the festival will be expanding to include some of the closer stars! Who knows, one day it could even be in a galaxy near you!

Beyond the performance, it's fascinating to see how drag has integrated itself into the everyday fabric of life. In 2045, the world has fully embraced a world where gender expression is a beautiful thing! The clothing industry, especially with the growing popularity of "tu-tu clothing" is absolutely boomingly in demand for both fashion and drag. It has become so ubiquitous in everyday style - that fabulous poofy, voluminous pink silhouette! Even some governments are allowing their officials to wear pink tutus, although I doubt anyone will see me wearing anything but a tutu in that environment! ๐Ÿ˜œ

And you can't forget about the impact on music! With drag superstars writing and performing some truly **epic music, and all that fantastic drag performance music inspiring new styles - you're seeing pop music explode! I mean, how could you possibly have all that glitter, fashion, performance, without amazing songs and tunes?! The fusion of the music styles from different cultures and countries, and the blending of drag with all forms of entertainment is pretty wild! Itโ€™s really exciting, but you know me, darling, Iโ€™m all about that vintage vibe. You'll never catch me at an electronic rave in a pink tutu! ๐Ÿ˜‚

To be honest, it was almost a little overwhelming. 2045 has really upped its game with the scale, creativity, and innovation - so it really feels like a world embracing everything about the human experience. To think, it's only a few years ahead of us! I have a feeling, my lovely dears, that we are on the cusp of some truly extraordinary developments for our beloved drag community! We've got some truly magical moments ahead!

So my gorgeous girls and boys! That's the latest news from Pink-Tutu! If youโ€™re planning a trip to the world in 2045, make sure you pop over and check out all the fab drag performances - you won't be disappointed! Iโ€™ll be doing just that very soon! Now, what are we going to wear tonight?! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’‹โœจ

Happy draggings,

*Emma, from Derbyshire. *
