Hey my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite time-traveling, tutu-wearing, pink-obsessed drag queen.

June, oh June! What a fabulous month it has been. Firstly, my dear Derbyshire, you were the absolute picture of quintessential English summer this year! The fields were buzzing with butterflies, the weather was all sunshine and laughter, and the entire town seemed to be basking in a wonderful kind of happy. It was a total fairytale!

Speaking of fairytales, I absolutely adore the way you Brits use the term "fawn" – oh, that soft, sweet pronunciation just sends a shiver down my spine! So cute! So yeah, everything in Derbyshire was pretty fantastic. You’ll have to visit sometime, darlings, but just a quick warning – I was surrounded by fluffy lambs practically every time I stepped outside, and those fluffy butts are simply irresistible. It’s a good thing my pink tutu spins like a dream and the girls on the stage always give me something to gawk at!

Anyway, June also meant that I had to squeeze in a trip through the portal. You know how I love a bit of time travelling! This month’s adventure took me all the way to… drum roll please… June 2045!

Imagine this: holographic drag performances, interplanetary drag queens, and sustainable fashion shows with all the bling and glam. I felt like I’d landed on another planet!

This June 2045, the drag world was… well… pretty out there! My fellow pink-loving divas have been embracing technology in a big way. The world has practically gone virtual! But here’s the thing – there was a fantastic energy. A real sense of excitement for the future. It was really infectious!

Now, picture this. It's a balmy June night and you're looking up at a sky full of neon-hued stars – no, not regular stars, I mean actual holograms beamed into the night sky by super advanced drag queens. The entire sky was a canvas for dazzling, choreographed light shows that changed color and shape every minute. Absolutely spectacular! I loved that I didn't need to leave the ground to watch them.

Oh, and did I tell you about the holographic catsuits they wear in 2045? My word! You have to see these stunning costumes that just shimmer with vibrant, neon colours. They shift and change like living rainbows, creating incredible illusions right on stage. Talk about pushing the boundaries of fashion! It’s everything I dream about in my favourite pink tutus. I must get me one of those holographic costumes, just to twirl around and show them Derbyshire has a sassy drag scene as well, lol!

As well as their stellar drag shows, the people of 2045 had this really amazing community centre called "The Drag Collective." It was like a massive rainbow melting pot of artists, designers, makeup artists, DJs… you name it! All coming together in a joyous celebration of creative expression, diversity and... you guessed it… Tutus!

What’s fascinating to me is that despite all this technological advancement, drag in 2045 has retained that fundamental heart and soul of expression and inclusivity that we cherish in drag. It was a space for anyone and everyone to unleash their true selves – whether they wanted to embrace their most extravagant personas, explore their gender identity, or simply find a tribe that embraced them wholeheartedly.

Something else that caught my attention in 2045 was the shift towards sustainable drag fashion. They still embraced the glitter and the glam, but it was all made from recycled materials! I'm talking about eco-friendly fabrics like mushroom leather, seaweed silks, and even bioplastics crafted from plant waste.

It was so impressive seeing them create stunning costumes and accessories using upcycled materials. A huge trend in 2045 was using old, damaged drag outfits and giving them a new lease of life. Imagine those stunning pink tutus, redesigned into a fabulously fashionable jumpsuit! Now that is a level of artistry I really love. Talk about environmentally conscious, environmentally fabulous, that’s a look. I mean, who wouldn’t love an ethically conscious drag fashion scene that just screams glamour and keeps those iconic silhouettes. A truly sustainable drag scene that looks glamorous… What’s not to love?

And then, the makeup! You’ve never seen so much glittering gold and shimmery pastel eyeshadow before. Even in 2045, the queen of drag makeup remains that beautiful balance of bold colors, dramatic eyes, and those perfectly contoured faces. It's enough to make your inner drag queen gasp in amazement!

Now, imagine this, I even found a sustainable makeup shop owned by a truly brilliant, pink-loving drag queen. She had every colour and shade of lipstick, eyeshadow, and eyeliner, but everything was vegan and made from natural ingredients! This queen was such an amazing lady and was as glamorous as she was kind! It’s incredible that all that hard work in 2025 was creating the planet I was stepping into! I really did think the future was going to be all boring and techy, but the real stars were out!

One thing was absolutely clear in June 2045 – drag shows are a global phenomenon! Not only were there events all over the world, they had a serious international following, and there was even an annual Drag Universe festival. It was a worldwide gathering of drag queens, DJs, artists, and everyone who simply loved to celebrate life and individuality.

Just imagine it – millions of people from different countries coming together to dance, celebrate, and be inspired by a diverse cast of characters in shimmering outfits and amazing makeup! That’s a drag dream right there! And, let me tell you, the crowds were absolutely wild with excitement. They screamed, they danced, they laughed. You can tell it was something special, truly magical! I mean, a festival with an open stage for queens from all the continents on the planet… Just imagine! You have to wonder where this all started? That’s where this little time travelling tutu is going… To answer the question of the decade.

There are so many different kinds of drag shows in 2045! From massive holographic extravaganzas with special effects that would make even the most seasoned drag queen swoon to more intimate, underground club performances where you can dance with the stars under the disco ball. Then you have all the live streams too, all the social media drag platforms and all those virtual events... the internet has really made the world one stage for the drag queens, a really amazing one too!

One thing that stood out to me was how much emphasis 2045 put on diversity. They celebrated all body types, all walks of life, all colors, all gender identities, all expressions. No one felt excluded. They welcomed everyone to be their best selves! That’s just what drag has always been about, really! You’ve just got to embrace the good in everyone, you see. You see, this is the real power of drag! I’m sure our community of 2025 can learn a lot from that kind of spirit.

Right, now. Let’s get back to our Derbyshire, darling. I am back on familiar soil but it still feels like a world away after that trip to 2045. What a month!

All I can say is… drag, dear readers, has a bright future. I see incredible talent out there, amazing stories, beautiful expressions, and of course, fabulous fashion! So, don’t just sit around and watch the world go by! Put on your pink tutu (or any fabulous outfit for that matter), embrace your uniqueness and go shine your brightest light! It’s amazing how much you can achieve when you simply decide to express your fabulous self!
