This month, I've landed with a twirl and a giggle right smack-bang in the year 2049, and let me tell you, the future is fabulous! We're talking glittering spaceships, shimmering holographic outfits, and oh, the wigs, darling, the wigs! Now, let's rewind back to the present (and by present I mean 2049, honey!), and discover the glittery gems of drag in this cosmic year.
A Cosmic Drag Explosion!
Drag, as always, is at the heart of our universe. We're not talking about one-trick ponies, though. Nope, it's a massive global phenomenon, bigger than ever before! And 2049 is the year the cosmic energies just aligned perfectly, honey. It's a kaleidoscope of styles and talents, a true reflection of our fabulous and diverse world.
A Tutu Topper In Outer Space!
It's a big year for the drag universe! From shimmering galaxy-themed lip sync battles to the Dragathon 3000 - a competition for drag queens to reach Mars via custom-built space rockets (no joke!), this year has it all. The drag queens who aren't already moonlighting as astronauts have taken the world by storm - in outer space, of course.
Now, to add a little spice to your June, darling, you're in for a treat. The global 'International Festival of Tutu Drag' has begun. Every June, a huge, global gathering of fabulous, tutu-clad drag queens takes over the streets of Paris for a month-long party of extravagant performance art, fashion shows, and celebrations of all things pink and twirly! And of course, darling, it is this very spectacle that's brought me to this dazzling year in the time machine. It's truly the perfect reason to get all decked out in a pink tutu and get that sparkle on.
The Fashion is Fierce, Baby!
Fashion, of course, is my heart and soul! I mean, just look at me, rocking this dreamy pink tutu with my shimmery top and sparkly makeup. The Dragathon 3000 contestants have gone beyond imagination! Think shimmering gowns made from recycled space debris, holographic wings made from solar panels, and metallic bodices that could give the Eiffel Tower a run for its money. Let’s not forget the makeup! With makeup tech constantly evolving, there are holographic textures, shimmer that goes on forever and eyebrow game to make your wigs fly off! Oh darling, let’s just say, the future of drag makeup is stunning!
Where is My Pink Tutu Taking Me?
With all of this going on, it's clear that 2049 is a year for cosmic glamour. But you know, dear readers, there's more to it than just the glitz and the glam. It's the heart and soul of the queens, their unique expressions, the acceptance, the community. These are the things that keep me coming back, to time-travel that is.
Now, I know you all want to hear about what’s happening here and now! This June is truly special. Not only do we have the spectacular International Festival of Tutu Drag in Paris, but this is also the day that legendary drag queen Crystal Queen is releasing her new album called "Twirling Through Time". Oh, darling, let me tell you, it's pure musical bliss! A journey through her entire career of fabulous pop anthems! I absolutely can't miss it!
