Pink-Tutu.com: Blog Post #1598 - 2053, 02: Time Travel Tutus & The Glitter Revolution!

Hey darlings! Emma here, your resident time-traveling pink tutu enthusiast, ready to whisk you all back in time – and back in fabulousness! February, as you all know, is the month of love and… DRAG!

This month I’ve popped back in time to the year 2053. Honestly, I was a tad nervous as 2053 felt like it was just… yesterday! My granny used to say that time moves quicker the older you get. That definitely seems to be the case for yours truly.

It’s all such a whirlwind – my magical pink tutu whooshing me back through the ages! For my dear blog followers, don’t you worry, this ain’t a history lesson – just a delightful dose of fabulousness that even the most staunch drag sceptic would love.

Right, let’s get into it! What's on in 2053? Oh, it’s like a glitter storm of fabulousness. Everywhere I look, from the streets of London to the neon-lit dance floors of Tokyo, there’s a global drag revolution going on! Drag queens are not just entertaining the masses, they are using their art to spark social dialogue, defy gender stereotypes, and (of course!) spread endless fabulousness!

This month, I landed myself in the middle of London Pride. It was phenomenal! So much pink, so much fabulousness! The crowds were absolutely loving the drag performances; we had drag queens in holographic outfits, performances by bio-luminescent drag kings, burlesque shows with intergalactic themes. Oh, and of course, the main event! The legendary Miss Kitty, Queen of the Dragverse, came down to London to perform and you could tell that the entire nation was abuzz with anticipation!

Talking of legendary drag queens, I was also fortunate enough to see Kika Ka-Boom (also from London) – she was doing this incredible robot drag performance! She moved like a transformer – amazing! She even used the drag equivalent of holographic laser beams to project a holographic scene of Dragworld behind her. Dragworld! Have I mentioned how fabulous 2053 is?!

After my Pride jaunt, I sashayed down to Derbyshire, my very own stomping ground, for some more fun. The annual Derbyshire Drag Queen Marathon was in full swing, with drag queens in pink tutus running a 26.2-mile course! It was so heart-warming seeing drag queens of all shapes, sizes, and drag personas, encouraging one another! As a fellow tutu enthusiast, I’d be lying if I said my heart didn’t melt seeing them all wearing pink tutus!

My Derbyshire trip wouldn’t have been complete without a trip to the Matlock Spa Drag Queen Day where they’re having their first Drag Karaoke Competition. This had me chuckling and shimmying! This was just so full of positive energy. People from the area, not just the LGBTQ+ community, came out and joined the party! It was truly heartwarming seeing the diversity and inclusion happening within Derbyshire. The highlight of my day, of course, was a wonderful queen named Scarlet Sparkle singing her heart out to "It's Raining Men." It was camp, fun and reminded me that, even though it may not have been my iconic singing voice – you gotta always support your fellow queens!

While we're on the topic of performances, I'm happy to report that the 2053 Drag World Championships just finished! It’s held annually at a different location each year. The finalists, of course, get a huge grand prize which is one month in a special, exclusive Drag resort in Hawaii – where all of the services, shows, drinks, and costumes are free! I hear Miss Honeydew from America was crowned Drag World Champion, much to the joy of her millions of fans! Oh, what a year for the fabulous Queen of Dragworld, 2053 is just oozing glamour.

Right now, all over the world there are so many things happening in the drag world: Drag schools, Drag churches, Drag fashion designers, and even Drag cryptocurrency are making huge waves in the mainstream culture. I just know my magical pink tutu will be back to cover all these glorious events. It’s a Drag World Tour! I can’t wait for what fabulousness awaits me next month in my magical pink tutu!

For now, stay fabulous! And remember, if you haven’t yet embraced the pink tutu life… Well, then you’re just simply missing out!

Your fabulously-dressed, time-traveling, drag blogger,
