Honestly, I can't believe it's been another month since our last adventure. My fabulous time-travelling pink tutu has been taking a bit of a breather, but the pull of history is too strong to resist, and well, you know me, darlings, always up for a trip to the past… or in this case, the future!
This time, our destination is March 2053! And oh my darling, what a trip this was! I honestly think the future of drag is absolutely glorious, like the vision of a shimmering, glittering paradise... If a paradise was filled with lasers, holographic makeup, and enough glitter to dust a supernova, that is! ✨
Before we get lost in the sparkly details, I've got to tell you, I wasn't the only one rockin’ a pink tutu in this dazzling future! My darlings, drag is huge in 2053! Think: global domination! 🌎 Every single corner of the planet is abuzz with the magic of drag - think performances in hyper-realistic virtual spaces, drag artists collaborating on breathtaking hologram projections that tour across the entire planet... it’s completely wild!
But before I dive headfirst into the shimmering future of drag, let's rewind back to what I was doing before this fabulous journey!
Last month was a whirlwind! You know, the usual - touring the English county, showing everyone just how divine a pink tutu really looks. The new season of Drag Race UK, well, you could practically hear the crowd roaring in anticipation… it was simply magnificent! The queens this year are stunning; fierce looks, sickening talent.
We had the annual Derbyshire Drag Ball, a stunning event full of gorgeous queens, sickening lip-syncs, and of course, a mountain of fabulous outfits. I might have gone a little overboard with my own outfit, my darlings...a giant inflatable pink tutu! But anyway, back to the future!
Now, when I told you 2053 is a glitter-bombed wonderland of drag, I wasn’t exaggerating. The drag scene was positively bursting at the seams, my darlings. Everywhere I looked, there was another spectacular performance, a fresh face, a revolutionary idea. I felt like I'd stepped into a fairytale of self-expression, fuelled by incredible talent and cutting-edge technology! ✨
Imagine drag balls taking place inside gigantic domed structures with holographic projections of your favourite queens dancing across the sky! And then there were the drag shows using technology in incredible new ways! Imagine a drag show featuring robots, with hyper-realistic AI performers creating mind-blowing, never-before-seen performances. I'm not talking simple dancing here; I'm talking complex narratives, stunning imagery and an emotional range I wouldn’t have thought possible without a human performer! It’s seriously mind-blowing! 🤯
What I truly loved about this future drag world was that every part of society, from everyday people to celebrities, loved, celebrated, and admired drag! Everyone, everyone wanted to be a part of the fun, rocking a pink tutu and celebrating self-expression. Even the kids on the streets! Seriously! Imagine little kids running around in their own mini pink tutus...it was pure drag magic! 💖
And speaking of children, the younger generation had access to drag like never before, all thanks to a whole new range of incredible drag shows specifically for young children! I’m not talking about your usual kids' entertainment. No way! We are talking about dazzling, witty, and engaging shows celebrating the beauty of difference. All ages getting into the fabulousness of drag… just perfection! 🌈
The whole time-travelling experience had me feeling incredibly inspired! It made me wonder... how will drag continue to evolve over the next 30 years, especially in our very own little corner of the universe? I mean, look at us! The pink tutu movement is blossoming right here in Derbyshire, even without holographic projection tech! ✨
I truly believe that drag in 2053 shows just how incredibly far we’ve come, both globally and as a movement. Drag is about so much more than costumes and makeup; it's about breaking down barriers, embracing individuality, and creating a world that’s more inclusive and open for everyone. 💖
Of course, as a time traveller and fashionista, I have to mention the fashions! My darling, the costumes in 2053 are out of this world! The creativity! The talent! Queens using bio-luminescent material, morphing garments, sustainable couture… The world of drag in 2053 was simply a glittering explosion of the most avant-garde fashion I’ve ever witnessed! 🤩
My time-travelling tutu spun me right back to 2053, leaving me breathless and brimming with inspiration. This adventure was proof that drag, our gorgeous art form, is destined for even greater things!
