Pink Tutu Travels: #DragQueenHistory - 2057, June (Post #1650)

Darlings! It's your girl, Emma, coming to you live from...well, I'm actually not quite sure where, as the time-travelling tutu has just deposited me right smack dab in the middle of a futuristic neon-lit drag bar in…wait for it… drumroll 2057! How's that for a juicy scoop, hunties?

A Little Bit of Me & The Pink Tutu

As usual, I’m wearing my trusty pink tutu – this one’s got a hologram-like design that shimmers between a kaleidoscope of colours and changes its hue every ten seconds. It’s practically a time travel accessory at this point! And you know what? I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the incredible energy of drag queens everywhere, my fantastic supporters, and of course, you, my precious readers! Remember, darlings, it's all about embracing the fantastical, the glitzy, the dramatic. It's about pushing boundaries and shattering glass ceilings - with a little help from a whole lotta pink.

Drag In 2057!

Now, 2057 is pretty mind-blowing, darlings. Imagine a world where everyone owns their own portable, fully interactive holographic screen. This futuristic playground makes drag accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime. You want a live drag show in your living room? Poof! Instant show. Craving a fashion competition? Zoom! You're front row at Drag Race: Intergalactic. Imagine that, darlings! The possibilities are truly endless.

But you know, for all this tech, the real heartbeat of drag in 2057 remains the same – community, inclusivity, and expression. It’s about showcasing artistry, owning your identity, and creating a space for love and acceptance. From the most elaborate cybernetic queens to the stripped-down, organic drag artists, the sheer diversity in the scene is utterly electrifying. I'm not kidding, one queen I saw just performed an interpretive dance number with drones! Can you imagine that? The art is as unique and complex as our ever-evolving society.

A Peek at the Show

I'm perched on a velvet seat in this bar that's shaped like a giant disco ball. It’s buzzing with energy - shimmering outfits, holographic projections, robots serving sparkling concoctions, and… a few familiar faces. I spy a queen in a holographic pink tutu that changes design every two seconds – I'm thinking that could be a record, dear! The energy is palpable. You know, just as vibrant as it was in any era!

Pink Tutu Time Travelling Adventures

As I mentioned, the magical pink tutu isn’t just for looking fabulous. This month’s trip took me to the 2057 version of Glastonbury. It's called ‘The Multiverse’ and it’s a whole other world! From drag artists on a floating platform powered by renewable energy to a queer techno rave in the midst of a surreal, otherworldly, glowing-plant forest… the festival was utterly incredible!

I learned a lot from my journey this month. First, never underestimate the power of a fabulous pink tutu. Second, the essence of drag, the creativity, the laughter, the inclusivity, truly transcends time and space.

It’s Never Too Late To Embark on a Journey

Don't be afraid to explore, to take risks, and to express yourself freely! Wear a pink tutu, take a time travel leap of faith (figuratively, darlings, no time-travelling tutus for you just yet), and unleash your inner drag superstar!

Remember, my lovelies, drag is a boundless world of infinite possibilities. We are a community of acceptance and artistry that crosses boundaries. The next time you want to explore, do a quick spin in a pink tutu – you never know where you might end up!

With all the love and sparkle,

Emma
