Hiya darlings! It's your favourite Derbyshire gal Emma, and guess what?! I'm back with another post for Pink-Tutu.com! Ready for a dazzling dive into drag history, because today we're going way into the future, all the way to November the 11th, 2061! That's right, a whopping 43 years into the future! My oh my, the world of drag's changed so much, let's hop into my magical time-travelling tutu and get on with it!
Firstly, a big thank you for all the support for my Pink Tutu Challenge! So many of you are embracing the pink tutu lifestyle and showing it off. Remember, babes, pink is always in season, it's the most fabulous colour!
Anyway, onto my time travels. The 11th November in 2061, oh darling! Drag is literally everywhere. Think immersive performances on Mars, giant holographic drag shows projected onto the clouds, even drag poetry slams hosted by sassy artificial intelligences. I mean, seriously, even AI is getting into drag. It’s absolutely wild, but also super fab. It’s all about the inclusivity, honey. Everyone's expressing themselves and making it happen in this wild and wonderful drag future.
I have to tell you about this drag troupe, "Cosmic Queens", they literally have a drag show every single week on the moon. Imagine the lighting effects! Honestly, you just can't compete with those galactic views, but their makeup? Breathtaking, especially on the Lunar landscape!
And of course, the Drag-a-thon, oh my goodness! That’s become a major world event, babes. Drag performers from across the globe come together to do non-stop drag shows for an entire month. All in the name of charity, darling, and it raises millions. It's pretty wild watching the "Draglympics" during the Drag-a-thon too! I even had a go at drag archery on the moon, let's just say it was harder than it looked.
Now, what's a time-travelling drag queen like myself to do in this fantastic, future world of drag? Why, go shopping of course! I popped into a boutique called "Future Frocks" to pick up a new pair of neon pink stiletto boots. They have laser-printed patterns and even light up when you walk, it's truly stunning.
I then popped into a drag club in a glittery, pink neon bubble called "The Starlit Galaxy", it was so cute. The shows were spectacular! Lots of futuristic drag designs with robots, holographic projections, and these incredible winged outfits with sparkly LED light panels. Oh my, darling! Just think, one day maybe we can all wear a winged costume.
Before hopping back to Derbyshire, I went to see the "Holo-Queens". Now, these gals are legends, literally. They have virtual hologram projections of themselves that do tours and meet-and-greets across the universe, while the real queens can stay in their perfectly air conditioned studios.
Overall, 2061 was fantastic! The drag was incredible. The clothes, the makeup, the shows, everything was amazing. I think it's wonderful how the world has embraced drag and that it’s so visible everywhere you look, truly remarkable.
I'm going to leave you with some top tips to embrace your own inner pink tutu:
- Dare to be Pink: There’s nothing more empowering than a good, old-fashioned pink tutu. You can never have too much pink!
- Express Yourself: Don't be afraid to unleash your inner creativity. Let your own individual flair shine, like a beacon of light on a fabulous drag runway!
- Get out there! Go and see a drag show, no matter what kind. It's a beautiful thing. Whether it’s in a small community hall, on stage in the West End or maybe even in space!
Till next time darlings, let your pink flags fly high!
XOXO, Emma
