Dearest darlings! June has been an absolute symphony of shimmering delights, a veritable tour de force of ballet-inspired fashion. Our tutus, oh, our tutus! The iconic silhouette continues to reign supreme, reimagined with daring flourishes and exquisite craftsmanship.
The Royal Opera House’s Giselle revival was positively ravishing, with a glorious tulle conflagration of gossamer white. The romantic, billowing lines were simply perfection! But my heart, it truly skipped a beat at the sight of Polina Semionova’s show-stopping tutus for her solo piece. A kaleidoscope of colour! An absolute marvel!
Now, I wouldn't be a proper ballet aficionado if I didn't take a peek at the world beyond the stage! It's a true delight, my dear! Look, even the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show seemed to be taking its cue from the dance world this year! Oh, and those Dior couture pieces? So whimsical and chic, and don't get me started on Chanel’s tulle creations; just stunning! The world is on pointe, my dears! Absolutely delightful!
- The Parisian Premiere: Dries Van Noten's collection took tutu-inspired designs to another level. Layers of tulle, silk and chiffon, all in a bold burst of color - Simply divine! I'm off to Paris this Autumn for more!
- The Jewel in the Crown: A special shout out to The Royal Ballet for its glittering array of tutus. Their exquisite embroidery is beyond compare - a masterpiece of artistry!
Now, my dears, if you see me sauntering through Harrods in my newly-acquired, vintage tutu – don’t be alarmed! And please do let me know your favorite tutu looks for this season! A most enchanting summer to all.
