Hello, my darlings! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu-wearing time traveller. November is upon us, and I am thrilled to whisk you all back in time, for this month, I’m diving headfirst into the glittering world of 1770!
It’s all a whirl of powdered wigs, intricate dances, and of course, an abundance of exquisite, beautiful pink. Today, my darlings, we're venturing into a world where elegance was everything and fashion was an art form. Just picture it - the gentlemen in their lavish silk breeches and embroidered waistcoats, the ladies in their magnificent gowns, and I, a dash of pink twirling through it all!
It's all thanks to Magic Meg that I can travel back in time - my stunning pink sparkling shire horse. Her golden hooves practically shimmer with magic as she takes me on this extraordinary journey. Today, Meg wore a pink velvet bridle with a sparkly white feather, complimenting her stunning pink and white mane and tail! My leather rucksack on my back is bursting with the incredible ballet finds I discovered in 1770, including an intricately hand-stitched shoe, a delicate feathered headdress, and a little bit of silk ribbon - all for you, dear readers!
And for today's time travel outfit? Why, it has to be my most divine pink tutu! It's made from layers upon layers of tulle, just so wispy and light, just like the feather on Magic Meg's bridle. Its pastel shade makes it simply irresistible, a reflection of all things soft and elegant. And my matching pink ribbons adorning my braids are simply delightful, making a splash of colour that brightens every timeline I journey into.
Ballet in 1770
Now, what would 1770 be without a spot of ballet, eh? Believe me, the ballet world was alive and kicking, just as it is today. The star was the Royal Swedish Ballet, known for its elegance and graceful choreography, and we're very lucky they were performing the famous Le Triomphe d'Amours, a masterpiece of beauty, dance, and dramatic storytelling. This ballet brought audiences to their feet with its tale of passionate love and captivating music. If I could just pop my tutu back into a past timeline, it would be right here in 1770, to see this legendary show!
Let’s Talk About Fashion, Dearest Darlings!
Ah, fashion in 1770 was a magnificent spectacle. The colours! The embellishments! Just breathtaking! Imagine yourself swirling in a ball gown with an intricately designed pannier. Imagine gentlemen bowing with their velvet coats flowing, and gentlemen in lace and powder, oh, so very elegant and debonair! I loved looking around, finding so many colours and textures in 1770, a true delight to my fashionable heart. Even today, our ballet costumes can learn a thing or two from these era-defining fashions!
Sharing is Caring
I’m always pleased to share my time travel adventures with all of you! Don’t forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com, where you can find my blog posts, pictures, and of course, information on all things ballet! It's always a joy sharing these adventures with all you gorgeous, glamorous, wonderful folk! And while you’re at it, tell me what you’d do if you could travel through time in your very own pink tutu. Maybe you'd go to ancient Greece to watch the earliest forms of ballet! Or perhaps you'd take a whirl through Victorian England to dance at a grand ball! Tell me all about it in the comments, and let’s make some magic happen!
As always, stay sparkly, stay pink, and keep twirling. Love,
Emma xx
