Pink Tutu Time Travels: 5th May 1898! Post #2849 🩰💕

Hello darling readers, and welcome back to my Pink Tutu Time Travels blog! I'm Emma, your Derbyshire-born, tutu-clad, time-travelling ballet enthusiast, and this month we're swirling back to the 5th of May, 1898! Buckle up, my loves, as we're off on another magical journey!

My trusty steed, the magnificent Magic Meg, is all preened and prepped in her sparkling pink coat with golden hooves. My own ensemble? Why, naturally, it’s a soft pink tulle tutu with shimmering embellishments. A ballerina can't travel through time without a bit of sparkle, now can she? 💖

Back to 1898…

Today's a bit of a chilly one, I've gotta say! Thankfully, Magic Meg’s coat is thick and warm enough for both of us. We’re in Paris, right at the heart of the ballet scene. Now, who’s ready for a spot of ballet history?

The world of ballet on this particular 5th of May was ablaze with talent. Over at the Opéra Garnier, the stars were shining, literally! It was the opening night of a production of “La Source,” a ballet in three acts with music by Léo Delibes. Oh, the beautiful melodies and choreography - my heart was positively skipping a beat! This ballet is quite the dramatic masterpiece with plenty of vibrant costume changes and scenery. I wonder what kind of treasures I can find to bring back in my leather rucksack from this performance!

Speaking of costumes, my goodness, the dancers are dressed in exquisite gowns. Just imagine, ladies! Feathers, tulle, sparkling stones – it’s a kaleidoscope of femininity and grace. My inner fashionista was thrilled to see how the ballet dancers were bringing the period style to life. Imagine if everyone wore a ballet tutu - how incredibly elegant wouldn't it be? 🩰

Of course, no trip to Paris in the late 19th century is complete without a stroll through the most fashionable boulevards. There, I caught glimpses of exquisite fabrics, sumptuous laces, and innovative designs for theatre and dance wear. I swear I even saw a glimpse of the next season's trend - a bit of shimmer with a bold splash of red, what do you think? 😉

Speaking of theatre, darling readers, wouldn’t it be wonderful if the fashion scene embraced the ballet look a little more? Just a sprinkle of pink tulle on every street corner! That would be delightful, don’t you agree? It’s my personal mission to inspire more people to add a touch of pink to their lives. Maybe a delicate blush of blush pink, or perhaps even a dash of vibrant fuchsia for a little drama? It’s all about embracing the beauty of ballet, my darlings. ✨

After our walk, I found a charming tea room and indulged in a spot of delicate cucumber sandwiches and delicious éclairs, my oh my, how the Parisians truly know how to indulge! I also enjoyed listening to the enchanting Parisian tunes filling the air and savoring the Parisian atmosphere.

However, all good things must come to an end. With a gentle tug on Magic Meg's reigns, we set off back to the present day, feeling utterly refreshed and energized from our whirlwind adventure in time! I can't wait to share my new discoveries with all of you. Until next time, darlings, stay tuned for more Pink Tutu Time Travels! 💕
