Hello my darling dance-lovers! It's Emma here, your time-traveling ballerina, ready to whisk you away on another enchanting journey! As always, I'm donning my trusty pink tutu, it's just so me, you know? ๐
This month, Magic Meg and I are setting our sights on 1st January 1966, a year brimming with balletic brilliance! This magical steed, a pink-sparkling Shire horse with a mane and tail as white as fresh snow, is my trusty companion for all these time-travel adventures. Imagine - golden hooves, a flowing pink shimmer - she's the ultimate ballet horse, don't you think?
As we trot back in time, I can't help but think about the fashion of 1966! I'm always keeping my eye out for stylish ballet looks. I've already noted the most divine minidresses, some even with lace trim! They would be perfect for my off-stage wardrobe. And can you imagine pairing a fab mini with a luscious pink tutu for a little extra something? My eyes just twinkled with excitement! ๐คฉ
I'm always looking for the perfect outfit for my travels through history, and let me tell you, 1966 is proving to be a real winner! The colourful geometric patterns and groovy shapes are just screaming my name! A pair of bright yellow trousers paired with a pale pink ballerina blouse - it just screams chic, doesn't it? ๐
But it's not just about fashion, is it? This year holds some really fabulous ballet history that I just have to share with you! First up, we've got the ever-so-lovely Royal Ballet performing "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden! My dear, that would have been pure magic to experience! ๐ I can already imagine the beauty of the second act - those wilis gliding in the moonlight. Pure enchantment! ๐ซ
Oh, and another tidbit I just discovered: a young, budding ballerina named Margot Fonteyn is getting ready for her return to the Royal Ballet. What a name! Just the epitome of a dancer, wouldn't you agree? ๐ฉฐ And speaking of fabulous ballet dancers... how about a trip to New York City? It seems there is a young chap named Mikhail Baryshnikov debuting with the American Ballet Theatre - that name is ringing some major bells already.
My trusty leather rucksack is already starting to fill up with fascinating stories from this era. Just imagine - the thrill of a new year, the promise of incredible ballet, the sheer excitement of fashion! My imagination is already taking flight! โจ
But of course, no time-traveling ballerina's journey is complete without a little something extra special. So, let me whisk you away with this month's Ballet-licious Bingo:
