Hello darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where pink tutus and time travel go hand-in-hand! This month, I’ve been whisked away on a whirlwind journey to 2009 – what a time to be alive, honestly! Imagine, no smartphones (although let’s be honest, even back then the mobile phones were bigger than my face, whoops!). But don't worry, dear readers, Magic Meg and I, with our fabulous pink ensembles (just picture a majestic Shire horse, all sparkly pink and with hooves the colour of gold, pulling a carriage with pink silk ribbons – absolute perfection!), navigated this new world with grace and glamour.
Speaking of pink and grace, we found ourselves at the Royal Opera House in London for a performance that had me utterly besotted. It was The Sleeping Beauty by none other than Marius Petipa, and oh my, darling, let me tell you, this performance was everything. We sat amongst the elegantly dressed ladies with their perfectly coiffed hair and beautiful jewellery. It was a night to remember! The story of Princess Aurora and the evil Carabosse was absolutely enchanting. The dancing, the costumes – pure, exquisite perfection.
I had the most wonderful time exploring the streets of London. A vintage tutu shop, oh la la! – what a find! (Naturally, I had to add another pink tutu to my collection. It’s not an obsession, it’s a passion, darling). Imagine, my rucksack is stuffed with memories and treasures from the past - I already can’t wait to show you my new acquisition. It’s even got the cutest little floral details!
Now, you lovely lot, tell me, what was going on in the world of ballet on this glorious 11th November, 2009? Did anyone else feel the magic of The Sleeping Beauty? Any exciting ballet premieres in other parts of the world?
Before you go, don’t forget, my little ballet darlings, the magic of a pink tutu is not just about the colour, but about the joy it brings to everyone! Embrace the twirl, let your inner ballerina shine, and spread the joy of pink to the world. Remember, together, we can make every day feel like a fairytale!
See you next month, lovelies! Don’t forget to follow me on social media at @PinkTutuTravels. And please, if you have any memories of ballet performances in 2009, I would absolutely love to hear all about them!
P.S. Don’t forget, you can find all the magical adventures of Magic Meg and me on www.pink-tutu.com. Have a magical day, my dears!
