As you know, my mission is to spread the joy and wonder of ballet, and what better way than by exploring its history across the centuries? But, of course, no adventure is complete without my trusty steed, the beautiful Magic Meg, a magnificent pink sparkling Shire horse with golden hooves, a flowing white mane, and a tail like spun sugar.

We arrive in the heart of London, where the Royal Opera House is abuzz with excitement! Matthew Bourneās "Cinderella" is about to steal the hearts of the city, with a reimagined fairytale, breathtaking costumes, and spellbinding storytelling. Imagine: sparkling ballrooms, daring leaps, and the sheer joy of a dance troupe at its very best! I must confess, this particular production calls for a pink tutu, so of course, I slipped mine on for the occasion! The feeling of swirling, twirling, and gliding alongside these brilliant dancersā¦ sheer bliss!
But it's not just London. All over the UK, ballets both classic and modern are captivating audiences. From the grandeur of the Birmingham Royal Ballet to the electrifying energy of the Northern Ballet ā ballet fever is truly sweeping the nation. And, darling dears, where thereās a ballet, you can bet thereās a fabulous pink tutu, so keep those eyes peeled!
Beyond the Channel
Venturing across the Channel to France, we arrive at the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet. Here, we're transported into the world of Sergei Prokofievās āRomeo and Julietā, with its raw emotion and timeless love story. Every movement speaks volumes, every gesture evokes a thrill, and every glance stirs a feeling! It's this very essence of emotional expression that makes ballet so powerful.
But the wonders donāt stop there. The New York City Ballet is captivating audiences with a dynamic, modern production of "Swan Lake" ā showcasing the stunning athleticism of dancers who move like graceful swans gliding through a moonlit lake. And the American Ballet Theatre, brimming with talent and passionate energy, is wowing critics with its fresh interpretation of the timeless classic "Giselle".

From the Royal Ballet School, a delicate dance journal filled with aspiring ballerina dreams. From the Paris Opera Ballet, a beautifully stitched satin ballet shoe adorned with an intricate silver broach, a reminder of elegance and dedication. And from Londonās Matthew Bourneās āCinderellaā, a sparkly, dazzling, and truly stunning feather from the iconic fairytale ballgown, symbolizing magic and the dreams that only ballet can inspire.
As I journey back to my Derbyshire home, nestled in the picturesque English countryside, I reflect upon the incredible dance traditions woven through history. From the graceful ballerinas of the Victorian era to the contemporary artists of today, ballet continues to captivate and inspire. And Iām just getting started on this amazing journey to share its brilliance with you, my sweet loves.
