Hello my darling tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma here, your resident time-travelling ballerina from Derbyshire, and this month, I'm whisking you back to 5th May 2017, for a fabulous ballet-filled journey.
You see, here on pink-tutu.com, we're all about celebrating the wonder of ballet, and that includes diving deep into history! It's amazing to see how this art form has evolved, and how much the world was just waiting for pink tutus...
Now, grab your ballet shoes, and let's set off with Magic Meg, my trusty steed with her sparkling pink coat, golden hooves, and glorious white mane! It's time to ride into history!
London's Ballet Buzz:On this 5th May, London's Royal Opera House was buzzing with excitement. The Royal Ballet was premiering a new production of "Giselle," featuring a sensational performance by the extraordinary Natalia Osipova! I just had to snag myself a backstage tour. Talk about inspiring! I'm still relishing those gorgeous tutus... and the exquisite dancing, simply divine! Oh, and my new addition for my ballet treasure trove? A gorgeous hand-painted ballet fan with delicate pearlescent swirls!
And then there was The English National Ballet just across town, giving their stunning rendition of "Sleeping Beauty." My bag was already quite full, but a charming gentleman gave me this fascinating, well-worn programme from the performance. He's said I can have more! The history I feel from the worn edges and handwritten notes.... Magic Meg felt a special energy, she almost whinnied!
Paris, Ooh La La!But our ballet adventure didn't end in London! We're hopping across the channel, landing ourselves in the heart of Paris. It's Parisian chic! Here at The Paris Opera Ballet they are performing "La Bayadère" and I found myself entranced by the ethereal grace of the dancers. A small pearl fell from a dancer's headband, she graciously gifted it to me after the show, my lucky charm!
Beyond The SpotlightHowever, the world of ballet is more than just grand theatres and renowned companies! My darling Magic Meg galloped me to a lovely community ballet studio tucked away in a cobblestoned alley in Paris. These budding ballerinas, were practicing, working hard! They were like shining stars - just waiting for the world to see them! Oh, I just knew their pink tutus would be divine.
A Tutu Fashion Update! Now, this trip wouldn't be complete without a look at ballet fashion, of course! The ballet world was swirling with an ethereal blush in 2017, the colour pink was EVERYWHERE! From pastel pinks for romantic choreography, to fiery fuchsia for dramatic roles - my love affair with pink grew even stronger.
Here at www.pink-tutu.com, I'm on a mission to make the world fall in love with the pink tutu. It’s the epitome of grace, femininity, and dreams - everything we love about ballet!
Oh, and speaking of dreams - we have to have a fashion fantasy! On our 5th May journey we’ve been spotting some sensational pink tutus, but for you, dear reader, I had Magic Meg fly me to an exclusive design house in Italy, the pinnacle of Italian couture - Valentino. Imagine a dress that's an explosion of fuchsia feathers and cascading ruffles, perfect for a grand debut! This is how a ballerina feels confident enough to conquer the world.
Wrapping Up...The 5th May, 2017, was a day full of ballet magic! From world-class performances in London and Paris to the energy of aspiring ballerinas in small studios, ballet is everywhere, enchanting the world! I can't wait to discover what our next journey through ballet history holds, so stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com for more adventures.
Oh, and please, let me know what pink tutu fashion trends you're loving this month, and remember to share your #PinkTutuDreams!
Until next month, happy twirling, my dearest!
Lots of love and glitter,
