Hello darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another fabulous journey through ballet history! This month, we're diving into the world of dance on July 2019, a period brimming with exciting developments, stunning performances, and, of course, gorgeous ballet fashion!
Now, before we embark on this exciting adventure, let's just take a moment to admire the gorgeousness that is Magic Meg! My trusty steed, the magnificent pink shire horse with a white mane and tail, is all gussied up for the journey ahead. She's sporting a beautiful pink feather trim on her saddle and, naturally, some glittering pink ribbons woven into her mane.
Remember, my little loves, it's my mission to spread the love of ballet, pink tutus, and, of course, time travel to everyone! This month's travel finds us stepping into July 2019, where we'll be exploring the ballet world's latest triumphs, thrilling performances, and those dazzling costume designs we just can't get enough of!
Our first stop is at the prestigious Royal Opera House in London, where the world-renowned Royal Ballet is presenting a mesmerising performance of "Swan Lake". This timeless classic is sure to enthral the audience with its captivating storyline, stunning choreography, and the ever-so-romantic "White Swan" and "Black Swan" costumes. Oh, to see the ethereal white tulle and the dramatic, fierce black feathered outfit! Pure ballet perfection!
Moving onto the vibrant city of New York, the New York City Ballet is dazzling audiences with their production of "The Nutcracker". This ballet truly encapsulates the magic of Christmas with its enchanting sets, charming characters, and exquisite tutus, particularly the sugary sweetness of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s costume!
In the heart of Paris, the Paris Opera Ballet is showcasing its stunning rendition of "Giselle". The story of the young woman and her love for a prince will surely have the audience weeping with sympathy for the heartbreaking portrayal of heartbreak and tragedy! Plus, you just can’t beat a gorgeous Giselle costume, all that billowing white tulle with just the right touch of romantic ruffles!
Let's head over to Russia! The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow is playing host to the captivating "Romeo and Juliet" ballet, a timeless love story full of soaring passion and heartbreaking sacrifice. You can't have ballet without Romeo and Juliet and with such stunning, historically inspired costumes!
Remember, darlings, the key to successful time travel, and staying fashionable whilst doing so, is my trusty leather rucksack. It's crammed with gorgeous vintage ballet items and stories from the period – like this beautifully preserved ballerina’s journal detailing her experiences dancing on stage in 19th Century France, or a lovely collection of vintage ballet shoes that are the perfect complement to my collection back in Derbyshire.
Speaking of Derbyshire, we’ll be having a “pink tutu extravaganza” this July back at the studio. This is our annual event and the highlight of the summer where we get to showcase our amazing work, and celebrate the magic of ballet. We will also have a performance in front of the Queen herself, in the grounds of her stunning residence of Sandringham, showcasing some beautiful historical choreographies that are sure to take everyone on a captivating journey through time. It's not just the dancing that we'll be focusing on. Think gorgeous pink tulle, exquisite flowers, and lots of sparkling jewels. Naturally, my fabulous, fluffy tutu and a stunning new pink gown with matching bejeweled shoes are taking centre stage!
Time travel is no longer just for the adventurers. Now you can travel with me every month with my fabulous Pink-Tutu website. It’s not just all about my travels; we have fun tips on fashion, dance and how to live your best, most sparkling, pink tutu-loving life!
