Hello my dearest tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad time-travelling ballerina, back with another exciting post!
As always, my trusty steed, Magic Meg, is neighing impatiently outside, ready for our next fabulous adventure! This month we're twirling through the time portal, landing ourselves smack-dab in the middle of… January 1st, 2038! Can you imagine?!
Oh, the fabulous fashion we're going to discover! 2038… so much has happened in the world of dance since my last visit! Who knows what incredible tutu designs we'll be scooping up for my collection back in Derbyshire!
And speaking of collections… let me show you what's currently bursting from my trusty leather rucksack, my time travel treasure chest.
A Whirlwind Through 2038: The Ballet Buzz!
- "Ballet Revolution: A World on Pointe" is on its third world tour! Isn't it simply divine? This phenomenal show is a fusion of modern dance, street performance and classical ballet - a real treat for the eyes. The opening sequence is inspired by 1980s pop culture! Imagine: tutus and leg warmers dancing to Michael Jackson… utterly fabulous! You'll just have to take my word for it, my lovelies!
- London's "Royal Opera House" is presenting an epic adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet", choreographed by none other than the renowned Dame Fiona Campbell. I can practically smell the intoxicating aroma of roses and passion… just perfect! I'm planning to pick up a rare programme from the first night!
- There's a new wave of contemporary dance rising in the Parisian theatre scene! I've heard whispered whispers about an avant-garde company performing "Le Chat Noir", a completely silent dance based on the Parisian cabaret life of the late 19th century. I can’t wait to catch their show and perhaps even buy one of their exquisite costumes!
But enough about the global scene! It’s time to talk about the main event… 2038: A year bursting with tutu-ific style!
The trend setters in the ballet world are going all out with dazzlingly bright colours. Imagine: shocking pink tutus with a rainbow of hand-painted, shimmering, glitter swirls. Simply breath-taking! And forget about traditional tulle! We’re seeing incredible tutus made from recycled plastics, organic materials… and the fabric feels heavenly, believe me!
Oh, my dears, you simply must join me on my journey through time! But for now, I have to hop onto Magic Meg's shimmering pink saddle and fly to January 1st, 2038! I have a very special performance booked – a full-scale show at a futuristic space-themed theatre in Berlin!
