Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! ?? (Post #9)

Hello my lovely Tutu Tribe!

It's Friday, which means it's time for a fresh new blog post! This week, I’m back in my beloved London, and oh my, has it been a whirlwind! I'm still buzzing from my train journey – a trusty First Class ticket is my secret weapon for making long train rides feel like a royal ballet class in their own right!

Now, it's London, darling, where even the Tube has its own unique style and is teeming with people sporting more daring fashion statements than any runway. And it's Friday – you know what that means? It’s the day to make a statement.

Speaking of statements, I couldn’t resist kicking off my London adventure in a magnificent pink, feather-trimmed tulle tutu! (Think a cloud of pink with just a hint of rebellion). This tutu just screams “London,” and let’s be honest, wouldn’t look out of place at any of the capital’s incredible theatrical performances. I was stopped for photos numerous times in Piccadilly Circus. I think I had a whole line of young ballet enthusiasts queuing to try it on (or maybe it was just the feather boa – you never know in London).

The magic of the stage!

Friday is definitely the night for a show in London! As I write this, I’m still floating on a cloud after seeing La Bohème at the Royal Opera House. Now, there's a story that grabs you by the heart! Such passionate dancing and beautifully emotive singing. Honestly, I just stood up and gave a standing ovation! And the way they use the scenery... absolutely spectacular. I'm still feeling a bit choked up about it!

Afterwards, we went to a super glamorous restaurant (more about that later!) where my lovely dance group mates (the best team EVER) and I chatted about the show for hours. We can't help ourselves – we're total theater buffs!

But first, let's talk London fashion…

It's just impossible not to be mesmerized by the fashion in London. Everyone’s dressed so beautifully here! I felt right at home in my tutu, surrounded by a veritable feast of fashion!

This week's pink highlight? A shimmering rose-gold clutch with a sprinkle of crystals! It perfectly matched my pink outfit (the tutu, a flowing chiffon scarf and a top covered in sequins… it was all very London) – it's the kind of clutch you can hold all night and it’s the perfect pink statement accessory for a fun evening out in the city.

It's not just the high-fashion boutiques in the heart of the city, the charm of London lies in the quirky mix of styles – you see something unique every step you take! You could be gazing at a vintage tea shop full of charming accessories, then walk past a street artist creating an inspiring piece of art and end up in the vibrant atmosphere of a market. Every corner seems to offer a unique piece of fashion – that’s what makes this city so magical!

Shopping therapy on the Kings Road!

Today, I did what every self-respecting Tutu-clad fashionista does in London… hit the shops on the Kings Road!

This vibrant street has everything! There are trendy boutiques that are full of clothes that make you want to dance your heart out and then you have these lovely little cafes to relax in afterward. My inner fashionista is totally giddy about a pair of cherry-red shoes I snagged! (Trust me, they are the ultimate ballerina red.)

Speaking of food…

London food! Well, that's an entire post in itself, but for today let’s just say that it's like the city itself - always surprising, full of flavour and a complete sensory experience. The little cafe we found for our post-theater meal was adorable, and their cakes! (Think decadent chocolate cake, adorned with fresh cream and rose petals - pure heaven). We were exhausted but oh-so-happy after indulging in their fabulous creations.

And to top it off, we went to a beautiful traditional English pub! We drank mulled wine and even got the pub’s band to play us some traditional jigs (even got some dance steps in). Oh, it was such fun!

The magic of travelling by train.

I’ve gotta talk about the train journey! Travelling by train in England is more than just a commute. It's an adventure in its own right. Imagine, plush red leather seats, rolling countryside scenery rushing past, the sound of a gentle clatter… It truly makes you appreciate the charm of English life.

And speaking of appreciating things, a huge thank you to my faithful tutu-wearing friends (who never miss a performance, or a pink tutu, or a good night out).

A pink tutu makes everything better.

Now, remember, the best part of travelling for me? Spreading my message - it's time to bring the pink tutu revolution to London! (We've already seen great progress. Lots of lovely folks wearing pink tutus at the Opera). And guess what, a few fans even stopped to ask me about my new pink tutu design – that's when you know your pink tutu mission is working.

See you all next week,
