Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #27)

Hello my lovely tutu-loving friends!

It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog update! This week I'm back in London town, feeling utterly fabulous in my pinkest, most twirly tutu ever! You wouldn't believe the adventures I've had, it's been an absolute whirlwind of shopping, shows and of course, tutus.

Let me tell you, getting here by train was a treat. I love the feeling of settling into a comfy seat, gazing out the window and seeing the scenery whizz by. It's so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for putting the world on hold and letting your mind wander (and daydream about tutus of course!).

Arriving in London feels like stepping into a different world. There's such a buzz of energy, everyone is so vibrant and fashionable, it truly inspires me!

Friday Fling in London

So, today was my first day of London exploration and it was simply sensational. First stop, Covent Garden, which is always a must-visit. There's such a unique energy to the place. It's filled with vibrant street performers, buzzing with the aroma of fresh produce, and brimming with exquisite shops that beckon you inside.

And let me tell you, I managed to find the most beautiful little boutique tucked away on a cobbled side street. They had an amazing selection of vintage hats, with gorgeous ribbons and feathers – I snagged the perfect pink hat to add a splash of colour to my tutu look!

Speaking of tutus, my mission is well underway, trying to inspire everyone to don a pink tutu. Today, a group of dapper gentlemen were sporting pink bow ties, and they were so close. One can only dream! I know it's a bold step, but believe me, once you embrace the tutus, there's no going back!

Later this afternoon, I treated myself to the most delightful afternoon tea. Scones, finger sandwiches, and dainty cakes, all while surrounded by elegance and beautiful china. My tutu looked perfectly at home in such a posh setting, a delightful contrast of pink and traditional.

The best part of today was finally catching a performance at the Globe Theatre. The play was Romeo and Juliet (always a classic!) and I can't tell you how wonderful it was! There's just something magical about being surrounded by history and experiencing Shakespeare in such a raw, unfiltered way. It reminded me why I love theatre so much; the costumes, the characters, the emotion! And yes, even in that historic setting, a hint of pink tutu appeared – my secret weapon, a hidden detail on the end of my dress.

Now, before you all get tucked in, I wanted to share some of the amazing things going on in London this week. There are several brilliant ballet shows hitting the stages, the Royal Opera House is presenting the majestic Swan Lake, the London Coliseum is hosting the captivating Sleeping Beauty, and if you're looking for something more contemporary, Sadler's Wells has the breathtaking The Vertiginous Thrill of Existence - definitely one for the bucket list!

Travel Plans: Week to Remember

I have a jam-packed week ahead of me filled with all things London! More shows, shopping adventures (I hear Selfridges is having a fantastic sale!), maybe a ballet class, and of course, more tutu inspiration!

I'm staying at the cutest little boutique hotel. The rooms are a bit smaller than my Derbyshire home, but I love the quirky design and the free champagne on arrival (a tutu-worthy touch!). It's situated in the heart of Covent Garden, so it's a short stroll to everything.

And last but not least, don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com, where I'll be sharing all my London adventures. We're building a beautiful, colourful community there, and everyone's welcome!

Until next Friday, happy twirling and remember, embrace the pink!

With love,

Emma x

P.S. If you're looking for a truly unique London experience, grab a pair of comfy shoes and head to the streets on Saturday morning. You can stumble upon some incredible vintage markets bursting with treasures – clothing, furniture, records, and who knows what else. Remember, pink tutus make everything a little bit brighter, even on a cloudy London morning!
