Hello dearies! It’s Emma here, and guess what? I’m in London! The excitement is practically vibrating off me, like a shimmering pink tutu on a freshly-sprung ballerina. ? It’s been a long train journey from Derbyshire (oh, the deliciousness of a proper cuppa with those lovely railway station biscuits!) but oh so worth it. You see, my dearest friends, I'm on a mission! To make every Friday fabulous, of course, but also to turn London, the entire world even, into a veritable symphony of pink tutus. ??
This week, London’s embracing the "Tutus for Everyone" campaign. The first step? Taking a spin through Covent Garden! That market is positively bursting with vibrance and colour. You'll find me swirling and twirling amidst the fruit and flower stalls, my tutu trailing behind me like a breathtaking pink cloud. I might even be seen prancing by the charming street performers, feeling their energy, and wishing I had my dancing shoes on! ?
Now, let's be honest, this whole pink tutu movement wouldn't be complete without a visit to Harrods, darling! Today is all about a touch of theatre in our fashion choices, and honestly, the theatricality of Harrods itself is enough to make my heart skip a beat. (I’m considering taking my next performance outfit from their amazing shoe department, you know.) Fancy and glamour are calling for my next wardrobe piece and I'm not going to resist! ✨
Later today, the ultimate theatrical experience is awaiting – the ballet, of course! ?️ There’s just something so magical about seeing these graceful dancers on stage, making their tutus float, telling stories without words, capturing emotions that words can barely describe. Ballet isn't just a performance; it’s an entire world, and tonight, I'm dipping my toes (or perhaps, my tutus?) into that world, fully embraced by the magic.
Speaking of toes and tutus… Have you seen my brand new pair of ballet shoes? They are practically singing their own, "I am pink, and pink is divine," tune. (Pink is indeed my colour, wouldn't you agree? ?)
Tonight's performance is "La Sylphide," and let me tell you, my friends, it's a complete triumph! There's something almost otherworldly about a beautiful ballet, filled with grace, emotion, and music. As the ballerina leaped across the stage, her tutu seemed to shimmer in the light, a vision of ethereal beauty. The dancers have truly captured my heart!
If you're lucky enough to be in London, the magic doesn't stop with the theatres. Tonight, we are catching a captivating production at the Royal Court Theatre! And don't worry, I've already picked out my outfit – my new black, tulle, feather-trimmed skirt will certainly add a dramatic flair! ?
One more tip, darlings: if you're looking for the perfect spot for some post-ballet or post-theatre refreshments, I highly recommend a visit to The Ivy. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and their hot chocolate, with a dollop of whipped cream, is positively heavenly. They even have the most darling little cakes! ?
Tomorrow, it's back to Derbyshire. This weekend's been so full of pink tutus, ballet, shopping, and laughter – but my diary is already filling up with more trips to London.
