Hello, darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, back from a glorious trip to London! This week's blog is bursting with the pinkest of London delights, and, oh my, was it ever a whirlwind. My travels are funded by my ballet performances, and you know how much I love seeing shows, shopping, and oh, the fashion! This week, I was a whirl of tulle in the heart of the big smoke - and let me tell you, it was a simply divine experience!
London Bound on a Pink Express!
It wouldn't be a #PinkTutuBlogLondon post without a mention of my love for trains, so off I trotted on Friday morning from my little corner of Derbyshire. There's nothing quite like a good train journey. The rhythmic chugging, the views that fly past, and, of course, the opportunity to put on a fabulous outfit for the occasion! My go-to for this journey was a light pink tulle skirt, a silk white top, a pastel pink cardigan, and of course, my trusty, oh-so-pink ballerina pumps. I might even have worn a little pink ribbon in my hair - wouldn't want to miss out on the full pink effect!
A Day in the City - A Ballet, Shopping, and More!
Landing in London, my heart was already leaping a beat per second, ready for all the magic this city held. First on the agenda was something truly special - a matinee showing of the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House! There was a stunning performance of Swan Lake. Seeing those graceful dancers in their exquisite tutus on the grand stage was just breath-taking. It was truly inspiring to watch those professionals execute their movements with such poise.
Post-ballet, I needed a quick pitstop for a little retail therapy - it just wouldn't be London without a bit of shopping! And what better place than Harrods? I lost myself in the dazzling world of pink fashion - oh, the gowns! And I picked up a beautiful little pastel pink purse. It even had a little tulle bow on it! Perfection.
Fashion, Fashion, Everywhere!
London is just so full of style, from the fashion-forward residents to the elaborate street art, it just seeps into your soul. I wandered through Covent Garden and picked up a pair of those fantastic sparkly pink ballet flats - perfect for my next London escapade! And don't even get me started on the hats. Every corner offered a kaleidoscope of style.
Theatre, Dance, and Dinner
Feeling peckish after all that dancing and shopping, I headed to a charming little cafe near the Royal Opera House. It had a cozy atmosphere, and the pink-hued desserts were to die for. I treated myself to a slice of strawberry cheesecake - delicious!
As the afternoon gave way to twilight, I strolled to the Lyceum Theatre for the iconic stage musical - "Cats"! Watching those dancers move like liquid, with such vibrant energy, filled me with pure joy. The costumes were fabulous, with each cat possessing its own personality and style, making it a true theatrical masterpiece!
After the performance, I treated myself to a meal at the gorgeous St. Paul's Tavern, with its antique furniture and soft lighting. A fantastic way to end the day in the City!
A Pink Tutu Dream!
Returning to Derbyshire, I drifted to sleep, my head filled with visions of pink, graceful ballerinas, dazzling outfits, and the magical city of London. I'd had a truly unforgettable day!
Don't forget, darlings, every Friday I share my London adventures here on www.pink-tutu.com - come join me as I explore this fabulous city. Maybe we'll even have a pink tutu tea party one day! Until then, wear your tutu with pride and always remember to sparkle!
XOXO,
Emma
