#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday, 1997-07-04 - Exploring London, My Darling!

Oh, my darlings, London has just beckoned me with a twinkle in her eye and a whisper of pink! And you know me, I just can't resist a call from such a fabulous city! So, hop aboard the train with me, my loves, for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon adventure, and this time, it's extra special – it's #PinkTutuBlogLondon number 44! I can't believe it, can you?!

It all started at my favourite train station back home in Derbyshire. You know me, I just love travelling by train. The journey itself is so charming, and there's just something so graceful about watching the landscape whizz past my window, especially when I'm adorned in my favourite pink tutu! (Speaking of, the tutu I'm wearing is a beautiful blush silk, perfect for this sunny London day!)

And off I went! This week, the ballet world is practically bursting with excitement, as London's stage is adorned with performances I simply can't miss. Today's schedule is a symphony of dancing delight!

First on the agenda: a visit to the legendary Sadler's Wells Theatre, a haven of swirling pirouettes and enchanting stories in movement. You can bet I was wearing my most graceful pink tulle ballerina shoes (a little twinkle never hurts!) The air crackled with excitement as the audience buzzed with anticipation for the performance, and trust me, it did not disappoint. The dancers were simply ethereal, like swans gliding effortlessly through the air. I felt inspired, as if the magic of the performance had dusted me with its stardust.

From the theatre, it was off to Covent Garden, a bustling hub of life, energy and... yes, you guessed it, FASHION! A must-do, darling! And just as a side note: it felt fabulous twirling around in my pink tutu as I hopped off the tube at Covent Garden. The little birds even chimed in with a "pip pip!" and gave me a cheer – what's a girl to do when she receives such warm welcomes?!

Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, shopping! I know you are just as obsessed with all things fashion as I am, so, of course, my wardrobe received a much-needed pink refresh! A fabulous coral scarf for twirling in, a darling pink hat with delicate lace trimming (because every ballerina needs a touch of elegance), and a gorgeous blush pink ballet top to pair with my current tutu! I'm practically a walking dream in pink – and I'm completely loving it.

After my Covent Garden spree, I knew I was in for a real treat, one that makes my heart sing a sweet little pirouette – dinner at the Covent Garden Market! My stomach rumbled at the sight of gorgeous, fresh fruit (perfectly ripe peaches!), delicate pastries, and handmade chocolates (so decadent!) It was a symphony of flavours and textures. My favourite part? The bustling atmosphere, a swirling kaleidoscope of chatter and laughter. Just delightful.

To top it off, my darling, I indulged in my absolute weakness: a little bit of ice cream. (Who can resist the sweet allure of a waffle cone overflowing with creamy vanilla goodness?) It was the perfect end to a day bursting with pink dreams!

I must tell you, darlings, today reminded me of my ultimate mission: to inspire the world to twirl in pink tutus! Yes, I’m serious. The joy and confidence I feel while wearing a tutu is infectious! And believe me, it is a feeling everyone should experience. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just beginning your pirouette journey, a pink tutu can truly empower you to embrace the joy of life with a playful heart and a twirling spirit.

Stay tuned for more pink-tastic adventures right here on www.pink-tutu.com, and join me next Friday for another episode of #PinkTutuBlogLondon. I promise you, it will be full of dazzling delights and enough pink to make your heart sing!

Until next week, keep twirling!

Emma

What else was going on on 1997-07-04?

On this date in 1997, Britain had been gripped in a massive heatwave with the mercury reaching over 32 degrees. The heat continued well into the summer months with thousands heading to the beaches in a search of some relief! I remember all those gorgeous floral summer dresses and sun dresses everyone wore. The shops were bursting with beautiful new summer stock in pastels and florals, ready for the holidaymakers!

Oh, and something else happened on this day which everyone in London will remember: The England football team played at Wembley against South Africa. Unfortunately, England were not so lucky and ended up losing by one goal, after coming back from two goals down! Despite the result, I bet there were still some fabulous football fans out on the streets of London - perhaps even sporting pink tutus! (Maybe not...but you never know!).

To wrap it all up: The combination of sizzling London heat, a delightful day at the theatre and shopping sprees made for an amazing, pink-tastic day! I’m feeling so inspired, darling, that I might just write a blog post on my summer fashion favourites...and it just might be all pink.

But for now, I must go and pack my suitcase and tutu for my next adventure...it is time for me to twirl my way across the UK to another ballet show, somewhere beautiful... somewhere new... and always pink!
