Hello my dearest tutu-loving friends! It's Friday, and that means it's time for another London escapade, chronicled here on your favourite pink-tinted blog! Today marks the grand opening of www.pink-tutu.com - a space just for us to share our love of twirling, sparkles, and all things pink.
It’s been a busy week, packed full of pirouettes and performances - the highlight definitely being my Romeo and Juliet gig at the Derbyshire Opera House on Tuesday night. I know I say it every week, but dancing is truly the best way to fund my travels, and it seems London is calling once again!
This time, I’m hopping on the train from Matlock, my beloved home in the Derbyshire countryside. There’s just something so magical about travelling by train, wouldn’t you agree? The rhythm of the rails, the ever-changing landscape… and of course, the perfect opportunity to showcase my latest pink tutu ensemble (more on that later, my loves!).
A London Day in Pink!
My arrival in London coincided perfectly with the start of the weekend - a bustling city awash in sunshine and a sense of pure joy. I headed straight for Covent Garden, an enchanting district brimming with street performers, quirky shops, and, most importantly, a tutti fruiti stand! It was the perfect pick-me-up, and my colourful purchase set the tone for a vibrant afternoon of London explorations.
A Theatrical Treat: "The Lion King"
You know my penchant for theatrical delights, and this weekend is a real treat for a budding ballerina like me! My first stop was the Lyceum Theatre to see a much-anticipated performance of The Lion King. It’s quite honestly the most enchanting show I’ve ever seen - the music, the costumes, the sheer spectacle! And can we just talk about that opening scene? Absolutely breathtaking. It had me leaping out of my seat, practically begging to join in!
The Fashionista's Haven: Liberty
After my theatrical adventure, I decided to indulge in a little retail therapy - what’s a trip to London without it, darling? My first stop: the iconic Liberty department store. Now, this place is a fashion lover’s paradise, brimming with beautiful prints, handcrafted garments, and just enough vintage flair to keep me feeling truly tres chic! I spent hours wandering through its whimsical interiors, my heart aflutter at the abundance of luxurious silks, fabrics, and designs. My willpower was definitely put to the test, but eventually, I couldn’t resist a gorgeously embellished pink handbag. I think you can tell by now - pink is just the colour I’m drawn to, whether it’s a handbag, a flower stall or a tutu, my love for it never wavers!
Twirling Through the City:
My pink tutu wouldn’t be complete without a good twirl, and London truly is the perfect place to unleash my inner ballerina! I couldn’t resist a stroll through Hyde Park, its vast green expanse a perfect canvas for my twirling choreography. With each twirl, I felt an undeniable surge of pure joy - a moment to be captured only on film (a vlog is coming soon!). The warm London breeze carried my skirt, creating a swirl of pink, like a flurry of blossoming petals in a gentle dance.
The London Ballet School: Inspiration In Motion
I knew my day wasn’t complete without visiting a ballet school, so I found myself captivated by the London Ballet School’s stunning building in Richmond. Watching these talented young dancers go through their paces filled me with a sense of pure inspiration. They remind me why I love this art form so much! There’s something truly mesmerizing about observing the way their bodies move, their steps perfectly synchronised, creating a graceful, flowing narrative.
Pink Paradise: Notting Hill
Of course, no trip to London would be complete without a stop in the iconic Notting Hill. The colourful houses lining the cobblestone streets were positively bursting with life, each door painted a vibrant hue, adding to the fairytale feel of the area. But what truly captured my eye were the enchanting boutiques. I simply couldn’t resist browsing for a few unique and quirky accessories, including a pair of pastel pink sunglasses and a dainty pink floral necklace. After all, accessorizing is a must when you’re embracing the pink tutu lifestyle, right?
Pink-tastic Takeaway: A Tutuful Evening in London
The day culminated with a delicious meal at a charming Italian restaurant just off of Oxford Street. I devoured a delectable plate of spaghetti carbonara while surrounded by the joyous murmur of city life. The city felt alive with an atmosphere of excitement and laughter, an energetic vibrancy that echoed within my heart. I have to say, I already feel like a little bit of London’s magic has sprinkled itself over me, like a delicate coating of fairy dust.
Post Number 48: Embracing the Tutu Life
This concludes another wonderful day of tutu-ing around town. I’ve been thinking about all of you lovely ladies back home, wishing you all were here with me, experiencing London’s magic alongside me, twirling and swirling through the cobblestone streets.
