Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #100!)

Hello my darling dears! It's Friday, and you know what that means... another glorious Pink Tutu Blog post is upon us! This week, I'm channeling my inner Mary Poppins (but with a lot more pink) as I've just returned from a whirlwind trip to the big smoke: London!

I'm always excited about train journeys. There's just something about that rhythmic clackety-clack and the window view that makes me feel utterly free! Plus, you can never go wrong with a good train snack - and by good, I mean a good dose of pink and glitter, of course! This time, it was a strawberry and cream filled pastry with edible sprinkles - it truly made me the happiest tutu-clad traveller.

Anyway, back to my adventures! London was calling this week, and I couldn't resist the allure of a fabulous ballet performance followed by a glorious day of exploring. As always, my trusty pink tutu was packed, ready for some city magic. I even had a new addition to my luggage: a dazzling new sequined tote bag that matched my fuchsia ballet slippers perfectly! Talk about style, darling!

So, what did this London escapade hold in store? Read on to discover all the fabulous details:

Ballet at its Finest!

First things first - the reason for my journey! London's ballet scene is absolutely phenomenal, and this week was no exception. I was lucky enough to snag tickets to a performance of "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House. My heart practically leaped out of my chest when the curtains rose! It was breathtakingly beautiful! The dancers were exquisite - their movements so graceful, so elegant. And, of course, the costumes were absolutely stunning! It was a visual and emotional treat from beginning to end. The sheer passion and skill that those ballerinas poured into their dancing truly moved me. It was a reminder of why I love ballet so much.

After the performance, I couldn't help but snag a quick photo with some of the other tutu-clad fans in the audience! Sharing that common love of dance is just one of the things that makes ballet so special.

A London Shopping Spree!

After such an inspiring ballet performance, what could be better than a little retail therapy? I always make sure to budget in some shopping time whenever I'm in London. This city is a mecca for fashionistas, with so many unique boutiques and designer shops scattered across its bustling streets.

First, I ventured to Harrods - a pink tutu and glitter bag are practically mandatory accessories for such a chic establishment. I found myself surrounded by exquisite gowns, opulent jewelry, and designer shoes. My bank balance may have cried a little, but I found the perfect fuchsia pink headband with sparkling sequins – it will be my new go-to accessory for adding a touch of ballerina glam to any outfit.

Later, I found myself at Liberty - a hidden gem tucked away in a little street. The Victorian architecture and its delightful array of fabrics, clothes, and gifts charmed me to no end. And oh, the flowers! They were truly an absolute feast for the eyes. This was definitely my kind of London.

Of course, no London adventure would be complete without a trip to Camden Market. I found everything from vintage clothes and jewelry to unique trinkets and crafts. I picked up a lovely handmade necklace with a dainty pink ballerina pendant – a perfect reminder of my London escapade.

London: A Playground for Pink Tutus

Shopping done, I had a chance to enjoy London's bustling atmosphere. My favourite part? It’s just so easy to wander around. Everything feels so accessible. It’s just like being a little kid again - excited and full of joy! The mix of history, culture, and modern life was captivating.

This time around, I decided to visit the Royal Albert Hall, the iconic concert venue. Even though I was all alone (just me and my pink tutu!), I felt such an air of history within those walls! And I imagined the incredible concerts and shows that have taken place there over the years. It’s quite special to be in a place that has witnessed so much joy and excitement!

My evening ended with a relaxing stroll along the Southbank. A little treat for my sore feet, you could say! It was a beautiful summer evening, and the lights of London shimmered across the River Thames. The London Eye slowly revolved in the distance, a beacon of hope and endless possibilities, reminding me that London truly has something to offer everyone.

My Final Thought

I can't wait to return to explore more of this fabulous city. And you know what?
