Pink Tutu Blog London: #101 - A London Friday in Pink!

Hello darlings! Welcome to this week’s Pink Tutu Blog London. It's Friday, and I'm positively bursting with excitement. Why? Because I'm in London, of course! A train journey from Derbyshire always feels magical, like stepping into a storybook with those big windows showing the world whizzing by. And when I arrive in London, it feels like I've stepped onto the stage for my own personal performance!

Pink in the Big Smoke!

London, you know, is a truly magnificent city. The energy is electric, and the opportunities for fun, fashion, and a good ol’ fashioned pink tutu twirl are absolutely endless! This week, my adventures started at Kings Cross station. I love the bustle of a busy station; the excited chatter of people arriving and departing, the rumble of the trains. Oh, and let’s not forget the scent of coffee and croissants - just what a girl needs on a Friday morning!

From Train Station to Theatre!

Of course, being a professional dancer, my journey began with a visit to a London ballet class - I mean, you just have to start the day with a good plie and some well-executed pirouettes! This studio in South Kensington was a bit of a find! It has the most delightful, old-world charm - wooden floors, tall windows with an idyllic view of a quaint little garden, and… you guessed it!…a huge, beautiful pink dance tutu hanging on the wall! I just had to snap a pic. It looked just perfect amongst all that soft pink light that streamed in.

After an energetic ballet class, the day only got better. My excitement was overflowing, as I headed off to the Royal Albert Hall. They’re holding a fundraising gala for the National Ballet this week, and my heart fluttered with anticipation! It’s always an honor to watch such talent on stage, especially those gorgeous costumes and sets.

Shopping 'Til We Drop!

Of course, what's a trip to London without some serious shopping? I've been saving up my performance pennies, and I simply had to check out the new collection at my favourite boutique on Regent Street. A delicate pastel pink cashmere sweater and a silk scarf adorned with pink roses? Oh yes, those are absolutely making their way into my suitcase. Let's face it, the life of a dancer requires some glamorous staples!

Pink Perfection!

Later, I caught a bus over to Oxford Street for a bit of window shopping. Let’s be honest, nothing beats a spot of window shopping for inspiration! And I confess, I did let myself splurge on a gorgeous, shimmering pink handbag. Just picture it: shimmering silver sequins with a big, chunky pink pom-pom tassel! It was truly love at first sight, and frankly, I thought it was my duty to rescue her from that shop window!

Sunset Symphony!

As the sun began to dip towards the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, I found myself in Hyde Park. It’s the most beautiful way to end a day. Sitting on the grass, watching the clouds drift by… oh, I wish everyone could experience a pink sunset in Hyde Park. I would totally wear a pink tutu for the occasion, even if it did look a bit odd amongst the businessmen and joggers!

A Delicious Pink Evening!

For dinner, I ventured to a little French cafe in Covent Garden, known for their pink raspberry tarts. You know how much I adore pink, so this was a definite must-try. They even have pink paper lanterns and tiny, delicate rosebuds scattered over their tables. Oh, so very pretty, like something out of a fairytale! And the tart? It was simply divine!

Dreamy, Dreamy London!

So, that was my Friday in London, a whirl of ballet, fashion, and pinkness, leaving me with a happy little twirl in my heart. Every time I visit this city, I discover something new, something to make my heart sing. And maybe, just maybe, I’ve convinced a few more Londoners to embrace their inner pink tutu!

P.S.: Do tell me about your favorite things about London. I’m always looking for new pink adventures in the big smoke! And if you're in London this weekend, come and say hello! I might even be doing a impromptu pirouette in Piccadilly Circus!

Stay stylish and pink!
