Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #110

Friday 9th October 1998

Good morning, lovelies! The sun is shining bright this morning as I write, and it’s hard to believe it's already October! This weekend's adventure is a whirl of pink, tutus and London! I hopped on the train yesterday evening, leaving the rolling Derbyshire hills behind for the glittering lights of London. As always, the train journey was a symphony of colours, comfy seats and the rhythmic rumble of the rails, a beautiful balm to the soul!

My bag is packed with my trusty pink tutu (this one’s a frothy affair in silk, you see!), a whole stash of blush-tinted ballet flats and my most whimsical, pink-hued ensemble. I just know I'll be making a statement with this look, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

Pink Perfection

Before I head into the thick of things, let’s talk about outfits! I know you all adore the tutus as much as I do, so I've been digging through my collection for the perfect London look. For this weekend, I'm leaning towards a classic – a beautiful blush-coloured T-shirt with a layered frilled tulle tutu in the softest shade of rose. A touch of black velvet around my neck adds an air of mystery and I’ll finish it off with a pair of my most elegant pink satin ballet flats. Effortlessly chic, yet fabulously pink, don’t you think?

A Day in the City

Right, onto the itinerary! Today is all about soaking up the unique vibe of London and feeling that incredible energy that pulsates through the city's streets. First stop - the glorious Covent Garden Market. A bustling hub of colourful flowers, unique crafts, street food vendors and performers. You just never know what wonders you’ll find amongst the throngs of tourists and locals, but one thing is for sure – it's bursting with creativity and personality!

Later on, I’ll be wandering the famous West End, making a beeline for one of my absolute favourites - the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. There's something enchanting about these grand old theatres, and today is particularly exciting because there’s a special production of 'The Phantom of the Opera'. Now, you all know how much I adore ballet, but musical theatre is my other secret vice, and I just can’t resist the chance to witness the timeless grandeur of 'Phantom' with my very own eyes.

Shopping in Style

No London trip would be complete without a dash of retail therapy, wouldn’t you agree? This time, I've got my sights set on Liberty London. The Victorian building itself is a feast for the eyes and the department store holds such an array of gorgeous items, from designer dresses and homewares to the most divine fabrics for my crafting projects. Who knows, I may just be tempted by a new silk to create a pink tutu masterpiece!

The Ballet Delights

Of course, no journey is complete without a little bit of ballet! London is overflowing with incredible performances. This weekend, I'm heading to the Sadler’s Wells Theatre for an exquisite evening of contemporary ballet, where I know I'll be whisked away by graceful movements and stunning costumes. And, because ballet is the most delicious combination of dance, artistry, and sheer elegance, I'm expecting a performance that will leave me utterly captivated.

Final Touches

My final act is something I truly relish – finding the perfect spot to savour London’s iconic sunset. The glow over the Thames as night falls, the soft lights of the city twinkling below, it’s truly something magical. It's a moment to pause, to reflect on the day's discoveries, and to dream of all the future adventures that await me on this beautiful, vibrant, pink-loving journey.

My Pink Tutu Pledge

As always, I’ll be documenting everything with my camera. Every pretty corner, every dazzling outfit, every graceful twirl - you'll be right there with me, dear readers. Remember, it's never too late to join me on this wonderful journey of colour, elegance and self-expression!
