Hello darlings! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post! ?
This week I've swapped the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London, and let me tell you, it's been a whirlwind! ?️ A train journey is always an adventure for me, especially when I can indulge in my love of fashion and my favourite shade - pink, of course! This time, I wore my new baby pink cashmere cardigan paired with my vintage, rose-pink tutu (because every occasion calls for a tutu, right?). I couldn't resist a little extra sparkle, adding my silver ballerina flats and a pearl-encrusted hair clip. ?
My London adventures began as soon as I hopped off the train at King's Cross. After navigating the bustling station with a dash of twirling grace, I headed straight for the glorious Victoria & Albert Museum. They had an exhibition on Fashion in the Age of Elegance that absolutely stole my breath away. So much gorgeous embroidery, lavish fabrics and beautiful gowns, all in the most stunning colours you can imagine! I was instantly inspired by the beauty of the intricate craftsmanship, which is something I try to incorporate into my own dance outfits.
After the V&A, I hopped on the Tube and made my way to the West End. A day in London isn't complete without a little theatre, and I had tickets for 'Miss Saigon'! It was truly spectacular, the whole experience was like being whisked away to another world. I adore those old grand theatres, especially their opulent decor and the magical atmosphere they exude. I couldn't resist taking a few twirls in the stalls before the curtain rose, of course! ?
No trip to London would be complete without a spot of shopping. I decided to wander down Oxford Street, searching for some lovely new ballet shoes to add to my collection. I found the most beautiful pair in a muted blush pink at La Boutique de Ballet on Regent Street. They're just the right shade for the new season! And, speaking of new season, I managed to snag some lovely outfits too! A vintage peach dress from a tiny boutique hidden in Covent Garden (it felt like a scene out of 'Pretty Woman', if you can imagine!), a pale pink tweed blazer from Liberty, and the perfect lilac satin clutch from Selfridges. (Just imagine the dance outfits I can make with that satin!?)
But my Friday wouldn't have been complete without my usual ballet class in London. My favorite instructor teaches at the wonderful The Royal Academy of Dance studio. There's always a friendly, and most importantly, fun atmosphere there! The best part was getting to meet a lovely fellow ballet enthusiast from Essex who was wearing a coral tutu! (See? Everyone can wear pink tutus!) I had such a good time and I left the studio feeling energised and ready to face the rest of the weekend.
You know, sometimes it just feels amazing to immerse yourself in the energy of London. The vibrant music, the laughter of people enjoying themselves, the endless opportunities for a little spontaneous fun… London just seems to fill my cup with joy! ?
Now, back to the usual routine, with the sound of music and the echo of the soft thwack of ballet shoes as my constant companions. And next Friday, you can expect to see a new Pink Tutu Blog London post full of more inspiring stories and, of course, my ever-so-important tutu of the week! ?

PS This post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the absolute joy of travelling by train! There's just something about gazing at the landscape as it rolls by while sipping tea that is simply divine! ? And let's not forget the comfort and style of wearing a tutu on a train journey - what a great way to make it a magical experience, don't you think? ?
