Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #145 - Friday 1999-06-11 - A Pink Tutu Day in London!

Good morning, darlings! ☀️ It's Friday and you know what that means - another fabulous blog post from yours truly, Emma, here in London!

This week, I've been working my tutu magic in Derbyshire, sharing my passion for dance at the local dance schools. It was so heartwarming seeing the little ones twirling and leaping in their tiny pink tutus - it truly warmed the cockles of my heart! And then, on Thursday afternoon, it was time to catch the train to London for my favourite kind of adventure: a whirlwind pink tutu day in the capital! ?

Speaking of tutus, did I mention I snagged the most adorable blush pink tutu with sparkling silver snowflakes at the market? I can't wait to wear it for my next performance - maybe even pair it with a cute knitted cardigan for a touch of autumnal flair! ?

I just love taking the train to London. There's something so glamorous and old-fashioned about it. All those lovely old carriages and the delicious smell of tea and biscuits… Mmm! ?

My arrival at London’s King’s Cross station was pure magic. The iconic clock tower and bustling platform gave me all the feels, like a scene straight out of Harry Potter! It’s such a joy to be in a place where every street corner feels steeped in history and romance.

Right away, I felt a thrill in the air, as if the city itself were waiting to whisk me away on an unforgettable pink tutu adventure!

My Itinerary ?

First stop - Piccadilly Circus: I simply had to head to this iconic London landmark. There's just something about the electric atmosphere of the place, the vibrant energy bouncing off the flashing billboards! After taking a few pictures in my sparkly pink tutu, I felt invigorated and ready to conquer the day!

Next - Theatreland: It’s impossible to resist a good performance when I’m in London! I have a weakness for the Royal Opera House but for this trip, I decided to explore something different - a classic comedy! The reviews for 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' were fantastic, and I was intrigued. A funny thing did happen, you see - I ended up seated next to a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, with their faces aglow with laughter, making the experience even more heartwarming. What a delightful way to celebrate such a momentous occasion!

Fashion Find - A Boutique Gem in Soho: Of course, no pink tutu adventure would be complete without some retail therapy. I meandered down the charming cobbled streets of Soho, taking in the sights and sounds. A quaint, brightly-coloured boutique caught my eye - all pink and silver, my absolute favourite combo! There I found a beautiful silk scarf, perfect for adding a touch of vintage chic to any outfit. The kind lady who served me even complimented my tutu, saying it looked “delightfully whimsical.” I almost gave her a hug, but she looked rather startled, so I opted for a friendly smile instead! ?

Evening: Dinner and a Show! London’s night life was waiting! A sumptuous dinner at a charming Italian restaurant with delicious gnocchi was exactly what I needed before my theatre trip. Afterwards, we saw a truly spectacular ballet show! "La Bayadère" - a story of love, loss and sacrifice, performed with exquisite grace and passion by the Royal Ballet Company.

As I boarded the train back to Derbyshire, I was feeling truly blessed. Another fantastic pink tutu day in London - full of memories, magic, and laughter!

What to Wear in London this June

June is the perfect time for layering - a light cardigan for a breezy summer evening, or a charming cotton jacket for the occasional unpredictable showers. I, of course, adore a bold splash of pink – whether it’s a brightly coloured bag, or a statement necklace with sparkling pink stones, it instantly adds a touch of vibrancy to your outfit! But London is such a diverse city – feel free to express your own individual style!

*See you next week for another fabulous pink tutu blog post! And remember: every day can be a pink tutu day! ?
