Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #158: A Friday Frolic in the City!

Hello my darling darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, and I'm thrilled to be back with another post for you! Today, we're taking a trip to the Big Smoke, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement.

You know I adore a good train journey. It's such a lovely way to take in the scenery, slip into a good book, and dream about the adventures that await. Plus, it lets my pink tutu twirl in its own little space!

Today, however, I was whisked through the countryside by my beloved London commute. I simply adore the bustle of the platform, the rhythmic chugging of the engine, and the feeling of being propelled towards the bright lights of the city. London has a certain magical aura, and I’m always completely enthralled by its vibrant energy.

I love going to London on Fridays! The streets are buzzing with a happy weekend energy, the shop windows are glittering, and it’s simply bursting with fun and excitement. Of course, being a bit of a shopping addict, Friday means window-shopping at my absolute favourite shops on Oxford Street and popping into Liberty’s for a little indulgence (they have the most exquisite selection of designer dresses – so pretty, so pink!), followed by a delightful bite at The Ivy and some high-end beauty products from Selfridges. This week, it was an enchanting rose-gold blusher for my rosy cheeks – my complexion needs some TLC from all that train travel, darling.

A Day Out at the Theatre

Tonight was a particularly exciting affair - I’m seeing the enchanting 'Les Misérables' at the Palace Theatre! Oh, my dear friends, I must say, it was simply exquisite. There's something so magical about a West End show – the glittering costumes, the incredible acting, and of course, the stunning music, had me swept away! I simply can't resist a tear-jerking story! You all know that I have a weakness for classic musicals and stories that are a little bit dramatic and a lot bit fabulous. This one truly captured my heart, especially the hauntingly beautiful songs – you know, those numbers that you’ll have stuck in your head for the rest of the week.

As for the rest of the evening, I treated myself to an exquisite glass of champagne – after all, you need to celebrate those fabulous moments in life, don’t you? - before enjoying a delectable supper at The Savoy. The service was impeccable, and the food was an absolute delight – light and delicately flavoured.

Inspiration for My Pink Tutu World

Now, you know I can’t come to London without taking inspiration for my favourite, well, everything! I was particularly enamoured by the street style of the capital this week – lots of feminine frills and delightful polka dots, perfect for channelling your inner ballerina! I picked up a stunning pink tulle skirt to add to my collection. A bit of pink is always perfect in the capital – it just makes everything feel so much more fun, don't you agree?

It's fascinating, too, how much London embraces everything pink. It’s like they get the message. All of these pink tutus and pretty outfits must have an impact, darling. My life’s work, if you will! It is truly delightful to witness how many people, whether it’s young, old, male or female, enjoy embracing this sweet colour that has such a fantastic energy and spirit. Pink, after all, isn’t just for princesses and tutus! (Although, a pink tutu is pretty fantastic in London!)

Ballet Class - Because Every Week Needs A Little Ballerina Grace

I do love having the opportunity to spend time with other dance lovers, and it's so great to get out and enjoy ballet class again – you have no idea how invigorating it feels. Especially in the bustle of London! So today, I was off to The Royal Ballet School, getting those graceful moves honed again. The sheer passion in that studio always brings tears to my eyes – it is pure magic! I'm absolutely bursting with inspiration – and it makes me excited for the year ahead.

As we approach autumn, my darling friends, I just know the ballet world is going to be more fabulous than ever. What's even more thrilling than seeing these magical shows is, of course, creating a magical performance of my own! As I’m sure you know, I have my big charity event coming up at the end of September - all in aid of children’s ballet and dance! It will be a fabulous day with lots of fun, laughter, dancing and dancing in tutus! More on that soon!

Let's Get Pink!

Well, my dears, that brings us to the end of another fantastic Friday! I’m sure, wherever you are in the world, your Friday was as filled with joy, magic, and love as mine. Until next week, remember: never stop twirling and spread the pink! You never know, darling, that beautiful little girl down the street might be your next little tutu dancer. And it doesn’t have to be pink either! My dream is for everyone, no matter where you are in the world, to find their favourite tutu colour and spin around like the happiest butterfly. What colour tutu are you going to wear next, my loves?

See you next week!

Until then, happy dancing and lots of love,

Emma xx
