Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures! (Post #175)

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma here, back with another dazzling Friday blog from my London adventure!

As the sun rose over the Peak District, casting a blush of pink across the rolling hills (what a sight, eh!), I hopped aboard the train to London, my pink tutu swaying with every movement. My Derbyshire roots run deep, but the pull of London's magic is always too strong to resist. This week's journey is a bit different though, it's a birthday treat for myself! I figured, why wait for someone else to spoil me? I’m treating myself to a weekend of pink-hued adventures and fabulous finds.

Train Travel

Oh, the joys of train travel! Watching the English countryside whiz by in a blur of green fields and charming villages always puts me in the best mood. It's the perfect opportunity to get lost in a good book, (I’m currently immersed in “The Ballet of the Little Swans” - a bit of classic ballet reading to fuel my creative spirit!). And of course, I always bring my sketching pad. London's skyline, peeking in the distance, is simply irresistible to my artistic soul!

London Calling

The train pulled into Kings Cross station and, I must say, I felt a surge of excitement! I inhaled the bustling atmosphere, that heady blend of car horns, chatter, and the sweet aroma of street food - truly intoxicating! My mission, you ask? To embrace London with a heart full of pink and twirling potential. And trust me, it's going to be epic.

The Friday Agenda

My first stop was the iconic Covent Garden, that theatre district buzzing with life! Every cobbled street feels alive with history, just begging to be explored. First order of business - a pitstop for a coffee at a charming cafe called 'The Pink Teacup'. You know I couldn't resist that name! Sipping my latte, I took in the colourful scene – a real whirlwind of street performers, street artists, and charming shop fronts.

Speaking of performances, guess what?! I have tickets for a Royal Ballet production of "Giselle" tonight. Talk about a dream come true! You simply can’t imagine how much I've been longing for a chance to see the iconic ballet. The music, the emotion, the incredible dance technique... I’m already getting butterflies just thinking about it.

Of course, no London escapade is complete without a spot of shopping, so I plan to visit Liberty London! The place is a visual feast! Their stunning building and interiors are like stepping into a fairytale. They boast the most fabulous fabrics and homeware too, I can't wait to lose myself amongst the silks, satins, and everything else glittery! I'm hoping to find some pink embellishments for my next costume design. Maybe some feathers, sequins… oh, the possibilities are endless!

The Perfect Pink Treat

To top off this wonderful Friday, I’m planning to treat myself to a lovely pink dessert. After all, life’s too short not to indulge! London has so many incredible bakeries - I'm going for something deliciously decadent - a strawberry and rosewater macaron perhaps? Or maybe a slice of the finest pink velvet cake... Decisions, decisions!

Fashionable Friday

Today’s outfit? Well, of course, it's my signature pink tutu - the classic one with the flowing tiers of tulle! It’s a London classic for me. To give it a modern twist, I paired it with a fluffy pink jumper, a shimmery white lace blouse, and a chic pair of black boots. It's the perfect combination for a day of exploring, theatre hopping, and a whole lot of pink.

And guess what? This whole adventure has inspired me to design my own London themed ballet performance. Imagine: pink tutus, iconic red double decker busses as props, and music inspired by London street performers! I can already envision it – the lights, the stage, the energy! Now that’s an idea worth writing in my pink journal.

Follow Along

Join me next week for more pink adventures! I’ll be sharing my "Giselle" experience, my shopping finds from Liberty London, and maybe even a peek into my latest costume designs. Until then, I hope you’re all wearing something pink, darling! Don’t forget to share your pink looks and stories with me on Instagram @Emma_PinkTutu - let's get the whole world wearing tutus!

Stay twirling! Emma x
