Pink Tutu Blog London: #176 - London Calling! 🩰✨

Hello lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London adventure! I'm so excited to be sharing my escapades in the vibrant capital with you all. Today is the day I’ve been eagerly awaiting all week, as I hopped on the train from my lovely Derbyshire home for a quick jaunt down to London!

A Dash of Pink in the City

Train journeys always offer a chance to put together a perfectly stylish ensemble. Today, I opted for a raspberry-hued, tiered tutu with a playful, vintage-inspired cardigan and my trusty Mary Janes. It's all about embracing that "girly-girl" spirit, darling, and what better way to do it than with a touch of pink? 💖

As the train hurtled towards the London Underground, I couldn't help but feel a tingle of anticipation. I’m always excited to explore this magnificent city. This time, I was particularly eager for a ballet-themed adventure.

The Royal Opera House: A Dream Come True

Now, London is famed for its beautiful theatres, and no trip to the capital is complete without experiencing a show, and for me, the pinnacle of theatre is ballet. I'd secured tickets to see "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House - the grandest theatre of them all! You simply can’t deny the grandeur and elegance of that famous building. I was wearing a tutu for the occasion, of course – a powder pink, two-layered creation that sparkled under the stage lights. I mean, the theatre deserved nothing less, didn’t it?

As I took my seat and the house lights dimmed, I was mesmerized by the story unfolding on the stage. Giselle, a beautiful and passionate peasant girl, fell in love with a handsome young nobleman. However, love often has a price. It was an utterly captivating and heartbreaking tale – one I will cherish for a long time. You can believe me when I say the performance left me lost for words – it was absolutely sublime.

Ballet Street: Dancing in the City

After the show, I decided to check out Ballet Street at the Royal Ballet School – one of London’s famous and historic dance companies. I am such a sucker for dance. It was a truly inspiring experience! Every corner of the building whispered stories of talent and passion, of dancers who had dedicated their lives to the pursuit of perfection.

The next morning, I couldn't wait to check out the iconic Covent Garden Market. Oh my, how much pink there was! Just imagine a pink-hued world for a second. You've got bright pinks, delicate pale pinks, a touch of lavender, and that beautiful salmon. It was an absolute delight for my pink-loving eyes.

My little pink shoes tapped away across the stone, making a gentle 'click-clack' on the way to the shop, a tiny boutique selling the most fabulous pink frilly bits - from feather boas to sparkly headbands to those lovely little gloves – they had everything you could possibly imagine in a colour that was practically a reflection of my soul! I felt like I'd wandered into a pink paradise, a veritable utopia of tulle and sparkles. You just couldn’t resist that gorgeous fluffy, soft pink – it’s a colour that makes me feel absolutely giddy, a little like a twirling ballerina – what’s not to love?

There were pink blooms at the flower stall, pink handbags at the accessory store and even a lady walking by sporting a pink fur coat – the whole world felt covered in pink for a moment. It felt like all my dreams had come true. And the pink cupcakes at that cute little café – oh, my heart did a little jig right there in the market square. I have to confess, I gave the pink cupcakes a go – the sweet stuff, it was delicious - I just couldn’t resist!

Lunch at The Wolseley

Later on, I had lunch at the Wolseley - a simply delightful place known for its delicious afternoon teas and its iconic art deco interiors. I had the most delicious afternoon tea and I even had the courage to try a pink macaron – yes, you heard me right – a pink macaron! I usually don’t indulge in sweet treats, but the Wolseley’s offerings are simply impossible to resist. It was like eating a cloud. I almost had to do a little pirouette right there, the sweetness of it was so incredible! The Wolseley really is the most enchanting place for a spot of afternoon tea!

Finding Inspiration

This trip was a symphony of fashion and dance – and London just seemed to whisper a sweet melody of inspiration to my pink-tutu loving heart.

My pink tutu was my lucky charm, making the whole trip so special. And it brought me the opportunity to chat with other fashion enthusiasts and discover a whole world of amazing new outfits to create. You can tell a lot about a person by what they wear. But to me, it all boils down to embracing what makes you feel good, what lets you be your true self - and that includes a lot of pink.

A New Adventure Next Friday!

Well, that was a quick whirlwind trip back to Derbyshire! It's been such a whirlwind – but I've packed it full of fashion inspiration, exciting new memories and delicious sweet treats.

Remember, loves, every day is an opportunity to put on your pinkest tutu and spin around with joy! 💖 Until next Friday, don’t forget to check back on www.pink-tutu.com for a new blog every week. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

Lots of love, Emma.

*Outfit Inspiration: *

The look: This weekend I was channelling my inner vintage beauty – so I went for a 1950’s inspired outfit with a powder pink tutu, a cherry red lipstick and my classic Mary Janes!

The Pink Tutu: I was really lucky and managed to snag a two-tiered tutu from a little shop called “Pretty Little Things” - the quality of their tutus is pretty awesome! And the price? Don’t worry my loves, it didn’t break the bank – tutus don’t need to cost a fortune, you know!

The Cardigan: This vintage-style, chunky-knit cardigan with the little buttons is just so fabulous! You can find these in all sorts of secondhand stores. A perfect little detail to your look!

The Shoes: My classic Mary Janes – my absolute go-to footwear and the most comfortable shoes in my whole collection! I don’t know what I’d do without them!
